There used to be a GeoCache at the site of the lighthouse. I wonder if it is still there. Thanks for the history lesson. Good stuff.

How interesting! I didn't see a geoCache while filming at the lighthouse site. While filming in other outdoor areas over the last few months I've had some pleasant conversations with geoCache "treasure hunters." It sure looks like a lot of fun!

@@humboldtoutdoors6082 you remind me of the humboldt version of huell howser california gold. you more entertaining. i do have a book i bought many years ago in old town eureka bookstore that would be great for ideas. its a humboldt history and great book. "place names of humboldt county california A compendium 1542-1992" by Dennis W. Turner

Oh yea - if you ever move back, film some shows! Membership in Access Humboldt is only $25/year and they provide very low cost equipment rentals. They encourage local programming on their community access TV channel.

Thanks for the tip! I also joined Humboldt Historical Society and have talked with one of their Board members who is going to film some shows with me. Really looking forward to that!
