The thing about Cressida is that some people might think she's so cold for thinking only about filming when a bunch of wounded have just been slaughtered. But there's a difference between cold and pragmatic. Cressida knows that what the Capitol is doing is evil. She's fighting in her own way, by showing the rebels what the Capitol really is. Not only did she feel the grief (because she filmed these people), she saw an opportunity and took it. Her forcing Katniss to voice her opinion is her own way of rebelling. That's a good character trait.

she actually used it in a good way and they really wanted the raw emotion in message and it was the perfect time. also in the novel, they all including katniss agreed that she should go in the battle zones for the emotion.

That’s what I really like about the Hunger Games series. I don’t think it can be labeled as “Young Adult” or “Romance” because I don’t feel the story can be put under 1 label. The story has some action, some romance, some elements of a political thriller, and some commentary on the here and now of our society. The story doesn’t dress it up with an impossibly perfect hero/heroine who always does the right thing for unselfish reasons. Katniss is selfish and makes impetuous decisions. Those aiding her survival are imperfect people who say and do things that make you love them at times and hate them at times. All the characters in the story are complex and that is what makes it a compelling story.

That whole speech was almost word for word in the book. Thank God they did that. When I saw this in the theatre I knew what was coming. I almost broke down halfway through because it was so real. I felt the grief and shock that Katniss just felt when the hospital was bombed. I felt the anger. And when I watched it just now, I had to watch it again because my eyes were so blurry. The best performance by J-Law. Ever.

If you didn’t realize until now that this and other similar dystopias are always talking about us and our current and possible future state of our planet, what is wrong with you? Honestly, stop being naive. You need to start reading more so that you are able to see the signs before worst things actually happen. I have been telling people for years that history is cyclic and humans are the only stupid animal that keeps falling on the same stone over and over. If you don’t educate yourselves and those who live with you, you are giving the psychopaths and sociopaths in charge the opportunity to manage your life however they please. They will make you believe anything they want to and you will be destined to make the same horrible mistakes that already happened before. Education is key to not let the new generations forget what took place before they were born, so that they have tools to detect when something is going wrong again and act accordingly before is too late.

Nebula You sound so stupid lmao. Growing up and realizing the world around you isn’t so sweet and beautiful isn’t anything to be ashamed of. It’s called maturing and this happens to everyone. That person could’ve read the book when they were in elementary school or something and now they’re a teenager. This person literally just said they now understand what these books are telling us so why are you saying they need to educate themselves? You gotta give Jennifer credit for her commitment with this franchise. She delivered pure, raw emotions. That contained anger, the electricity, being bold and defiant, yet still aware of her weaknesses and being afraid of losing the things that mattered the most to her. She has kinda lost that spark in many of the films she made after these. Maybe it is the roles she has landed in recent years, maybe it is because growing up and being more mature and calm... A woman in her 30s isn't the same as in her 20s... Still like her though, and I'm so grateful we got these movies starring with her.
