I liked that Lucy Gray was genuinely a decent person, just wanting to fly free and sing her songs. I expected the twist to be her betraying Snow which is why he turned out the way he did. People always want to trap beautiful things, glad she managed to escape.

Lucy wasn't perfect. In fact, one of her flaws was that she wasn't a fighter like Katniss and if it wasn't for Snow's cheating with the hankerchief and giving her the rat poison, she would have died very early in the games. When the 4 career tributes surrounded her before they got attacked with the drones by Snow, you really saw how defenseless and weak Lucy was when it came to fighting because all she can do is put on a great performance and know how to charm an audience and not how to actually fight to survive. She's precisely a foil to Katniss. Rachel Zegler put it perfectly with this saying: "Lucy was a performer forced to fight and Katniss was a fighter forced to perform".

people has been saying she ruined her career for years now, in between of 4 big and incredible roles (winning in the oscars, in the golden globes, in people's choice awards, as a heroine, on Broadway, on the movie number one on the world at its time), every time you guys say that she gets another big role where it does great, then you say it again anyways, then the cycle repeats. It's time for you to accept that her career is perfectly fine and that's why she keeps getting so many important roles and making sm money with them even after all these years. You can dislike her and dislike SW and stuff, but it's simply lying to say her career is going badly or that it has been ruined.
