When is your video going to be online? I have the feeling you're either going to nail it or fail it but nothing in between...

oh man. Good on you and Mario for sharing this . . . Tough decisions when you've got so much interest and time invested in getting there and wanting to do something new to you (and that you are otherwise ready and 'qualified' to try) . . . AND wanting to get good stuff for the camera. BUT . . . DON'T DO IT! (compromise your judgement, that is) Glad your better judgement prevailed. We all need to see more 'honest' videos like this to balance out all those "eye-candy" videos that make everything look so easy! 😂🥶 . . . So... thanks, to you and Mario (I've watched his too), for surviving! and putting these together 🍻

This seems kind of crazy to seek out wave spots, you don’t know about currents, shallow spots, and other hazards, and they might vary according to tides and wind direction. My brother lives on Oahu, and he is a lazy 65 year old modest skilled windsurfer, and when I visit him, he gives me exact detailed info on where to get out, exactly when to turn, how far to go, and what happens if you don’t. Glad it all worked out.

Sardinia is nice and all (when Cala Piscina, Vignola Mare and Isola Rosa close out try Spiaggia di Is Asrenas or Capu Manu near Oristano or Chia and Pula in the south if there are southerly winds) But the REAL fun starts in Ireland's south-west (use Tralee -> Castlegregory as a Base). You will find perfect conditions for all skill levels in all conditions! Late September / Early October is the best time as the water is warm enough for a 3/2mm

Cala Pischina is not a spot for beginner in wave discipline. exit from the beach its not the right way and can be more dangerous sometimes.
@myfelicidade10 ай бұрын
One thought: wouldn't it be a lot easier for you to just take a random 130 liter, narrow board? this way you would get rid of many problems and learn to evolve and place yourself in the waves. For sure you'd loose some manoeuverability but as a beginner I guess you don't expect to rip waves sharply anyway.

Tomorrow slalom fin session at "Lu Impostu". Come with me. Paradise spot. Off shore mistral wind and flat flat water.

If you’re a beginning wave sailor at a “wave spot” and no one else is out, it’s a good idea not to go. There are too many variables-not just wind speed, but direction makes a big difference in how you ride the wave. There could be obstructions in the water that need to be avoided. Currents and riptides that will drag you into dead zones. Rocks and reefs that will ruin your gear. It’s not worth it.

true, there was noone out anywhere, we went to this spot as a local told us it would be good and we at least wanted to try.

Amigo, lower your boom. Channels are good. Sometimes just stay in the channel and tack in the channel untill yr 100%out. Then catch the biggest wave of the set.... I am from Portugal we always sail without wind.... Good video

😊 bitte keine Spotnamen.

@thorstenpausch805610 ай бұрын
Ja. Egal. Trotzdem viel Spaß 🎉

Freewave boards are useless in waves of any significant size. Your life will be a lot easier on a real wave board.
@yannldn232110 ай бұрын
I think if you are a wave beginner sailing a freewave is the least of your problem. Especially in such lightwind as in the video. If you are experienced, waves are fast and the wind is side or sideoff I agree that a real waveboard is beneficial.
