In both foresight and hindsight, do you believe the WNBA messed up big time by snubbing Caitlin Clark off the 2024 Olympic Team?
@sebulller4 ай бұрын
I think they should have chosen a better roster all together. Look at the Feever players now they are killing it! But that is the hindsight perspective. Forsight. I think they should still have a better roster than they had. Diana Taurasi is frankly to old... she is 41-42years of age? Caitlin Clark is good but I really do not know if that is the best. But she had an audience it is stupid not to take advantage of it! that is the mind boggling part. So if they USA team lost at OL hell would be loose. I think to answer your question they messed up big time.
@sebulller4 ай бұрын
an another point i have to make is this. By not taking clark and ditch atleast a few others and take some good players. Than they could do both. Win gold and get more money! in one fell swoop. But I do not think it is pride or jealous. I think this is just politicks at its very finest. If i take you and we do this and that and whatever. We get more of other stuff. So my question is how much was the prize money? Because that is what no one talks about. So the USA team won gold. Good for them. But how much did they get paied each for doing so? Now the raitings remark makes alot of sense if they got paied big.

US Olympic basketball teams (male and female) have ALWAYS included 1-2 rising stars, either college players or recently drafted players. NOT taking Clarke was nothing but spite from jealous women who didn’t want a rookie outshining them. They broke from tradition and made an awful choice because their feelings were hurt. This is why women’s sports struggle to attract fans. So dumb.

Love your videos. I thought one of the purposes(raisin d’être) of the Olympics is bringing eyeballs and interest to lesser sports. They say every 4 years gymnastics signups spike. Love CC and her game and so far she’s just kept her head up above all the BS. The W just better hope they don’t drive her away, she’s their golden goose.

They say they deserve more money, but you need more viewers to have more money, but they leave CC off of the Olympic team and say “they don’t need to worry about marketing” Make it make sense

Most absurd if not racist example of the WNBA and the Olympic game Organization NOT including Caitlin Clark in the lineup totally and completely ABSURD!

They kept CC off the Olympic team so that she would have a hard time breaking DT’s 6 medals.

It will be a blessing in disguise since she got a rest during the season to help her longevity. Being physically bullied because other players are jealous of her, she needed time to heal. By the next Olympic, it would be a different story.

The numbers for womens team USA did not get released for attendance. Stephen A found out anyway turns out they got below 13K for most the games in Paris. They would have sold out every game and expanded the WNBA brand in a big way if CC was there.

Christian Laettner is an olympic gold medalist. Y'know, that college player that got to go to Barcelona with the Dream Team. Ahead of fellow college player Shaquille O'Neal. If Laettner was good enough, Caitlin Clark is well good enough.

The WNBA does not chose the Olympic roster...you keep repeating a lie. Its USA basketball that chooses the Olympic roster.

And what’s sad is that Caitlin has always looked up to some of these women as role models yet they treat her like she’s a nobody. I venture to say that she is going to break every record ever set in the wnba and that she will always be a great role model for women coming up and help them through their challenges. She’s an incredible young woman.

In the whole discussion of gender equality (which i am all for), no one of importance is prepared to admit that the WNBA is not a fun to watch. With the exception of a few good players, ive seen better games from high-school kids. Now there is Caitlin Clark, a basketball player with the skills, talent, and attitude that the league has always needed. It shows how average the players in the league really are. That they needed a better product... one they could sell.

Has nothing to do with Hypocrisy, pure simple ignorance by the decision-makers...each and every one of them should now be left out of their decision-making positions.

"It's not the Olympic's responsibility to market the WNBA." This is objectively false. Included in the mission statement of the Olympics is "promotion of sports." That's literally marketing. When Wokies put together their DEI rosters you get low ratings or in the case of Australia you get ratings for the exact opposite reason: embarrassment.

You do know goes DEI for white women right? Apparently you would have noticed there were white women on the team
