I played this as a college radio DJ in Plattsburgh, NY back in 1982. It's stayed with me all this time. Wonderful to find it again.

I'm hearing this for the first time today, forty years later. It's an instant classic in my books.

@@kareljbeer Hi Karel... not sure I know any other way to get in touch with you... But I have an idea for some software, and I think Person to Person would be such a good name for it... I don't want to steal your copyright, but your permission, and maybe involvement would be welcome... would love to hear back from you.

I remember this video on the GWT. I remember being fascinated by the tune, and the ladies' face (Caroline No?). I always regretted not buying it when I saw a copy if the 12" single in Glasgow.

my favourite version of this is the one on the 'So Young But So Cold' comp . on the whole such a fascinating and damn right cool track.

Is that an electronic cowbell on this record? Doesn't sound like the 808 cowbell sound effect but it could be the Linn cowbell.
@kareljbeer4 жыл бұрын
@@ajs41 probably a real cowbell or something that sounds like one... we didn't have electronic ones...

Hello Karel, is there any chance of uploading this again with a higher quality picture? It's such a great song I feel it deserves it. Thanks for replying to my previous comment. (I've included this on my 1983 music videos playlist on my channel, which I think is the most extensive one on the internet, with 480 videos so far). kzbin.info/aero/PL6oCQqv2KW6WTjSBpavnnkILla2nhwwrV

absolutely perfect, so quaint and cheeky and DEADPAN with romanticism hiding behind the sardonic tone. perfect minimal wave.

This used to get shown on OGWT a fair bit back in the 80s. Didn't realise they were French 'til now though...

@100dollarklaatubid well there are several slightly different versions of person to person - the us release was a different mix to the uk single 12" release and I think the version on the hypothetical records album is different to that on the Epic version in the UK. The French Epic version is maybe different too.... it gets confusing just enjoy what you've got. Karel (i..e. Norman D Landing)

well the record was made in france as was the video of course - so we sort of qualified as french cold wave for the So Cold comp : A VCR in the eraly '80s très sophisticated.

I have the 45 and the 12" but while looking at another music site for something else I put this song in to see what came up and it listed a 3rd variation. Anyone know if that exists or maybe a Europe only release with a differant B side?
