I-35 and the time frame make me think of my late ex-father in law who had ran a Kawasaki dealership and traveled a lot. The man was weird when I met him in his 70s and bragged often about the murder he was acquitted of. The females he had in his life feared him, my ex's mom feared him the most. Though his recent ex wife also had domestic issues with him and spoke on her concerns and aggression. He would take me with him not telling me what we were waiting for or what we were doing, just to learn he was stocking his ex wife. His daughter, my ex, has red hair. Though he had grey hair by the time I had known him. He carried a shotgun and a glock everywhere we went and even shot and injured one of our coworkers. But perhaps the strangest thing of all about this man.... Is that he wrote every event he had daily in a journal dating back to the 90s. When I asked why he did this, he said that its hard to denounce an alibi if you document your entire life. Though on several occasions I had found entries that were completely fabricated. His name was Robert Ralph Ford of Alvin Texas and he is now since deceased.

One thing that also stands out, is that his pistol probably was an Intertec Scorpion. The things are notorious for jamming, and being unreliable. @pandoxvideos3 жыл бұрын
Well the I-35 killings had different weapons and the Intratec was proposed as the weapon for the I-70 killings. @@pandoxvideos .22lr ammunition is among the oldest cartridge standards; They are rim-fire cartridges, and are inherently less reliable than the far more common and modern center-fire arrangement. Jams and misfires happen ~500% more often in rim-fire cartridges, even with high quality ammo and perfectly operating weapons. The manufacturing process for rim-fire cartridges cannot guarantee the hammer will strike the embedded priming compound. TL:DR - You can't really judge a weapon system quality by misfiring rim-fire cartridges alone.
@christopherneelyakagoattmo60782 жыл бұрын
@ Dan Cooper Yep. That's why some .22s have a firing pin that strikes two places at once 180° apart on the rim. Also, every .22 round has a bullet that has some form of lube. Making them some of the dirtiest ammo you can fire. Having said that. There's plenty of literature out there on using various abrasive compounds to polish feed ramps. And it is not unheard of for criminals to alter rifling or to sand and file chambers/firing pins in order to alter the microscopic cartridge signatures imparted to the spent brass. Also. I thought the same. Serial killers are like predator animals; their hunting grounds rarely deviate from areas they're familiar with, so police should look at any businesses or companies employing welders or machinists in the area along the interstate, esp any employees that get off late in the day. I have a feeling he commutes to work using the I-70, and picks his targets along there because he's familiar with the area already.

They are also known to 'burn out' when the thrill of the kill no longer sates their desires... He may have changed his M.O. to increase the thrill of his kills and therefore there could very well be many more victims. Or he could have simply burned out or died.

I wouldn't let the hair fool me. The fact that there's been inconsistency in the hair color and even was confirmed to be a wig at some point would suggest that he either had a very short hair or was balding or even bald. The original hair could simply be just a regular wig fashioned to resemble a haircut as described. Could be two or three wigs in there to avoid identification on the spot.

A woman’s torso was found at a rest stop around this time as well, near St. Louis on 70. She was only recently positively identified, her killer almost certainly never being caught. This was just a local story for a bit and was soon forgotten. I always wonder how often this sort of thing happens.

Very well put together and informative, plus I appreciate the ending segment analyzing the guy and putting together the “criminal profile”. I’ve never heard of these killings so well done presenting a lesser known case. Definite sub! Also, just wanted to point out 2 things. Erma Werke is pronounced Erma “vork” (like work with a v) and to say it the English way, you’d just say Erma Work. You mentioned ejection markings on the casings but all that does is point toward a semi automatic firearm, or really any firearm with an extractor and ejector, and doesn’t make any sort of inference toward magazine capacity. Not everyone is a gun person or avid shooter though so just a friendly correction. Hope you find this helpful somehow lol. Again, well done

Dude not only is this good quality content, but you've uploaded actual subtitles too. The autogenerated always suck and it really helps. I'm lucky enough to only use them to help me focus (adhd trick) but I'm always shocked how few channels put the effort in. Legit youtube should make a bigger deal of videos/channels that make the effort.

I think he killed McCown because he had intended to kill the man who interrupted him at the bridal shop and wasn’t able to. I think he was either projecting his rage at being escaped by that man onto McCown, or- when presented with an opportunity to kill a man- became curious about it, and decided to try it out at the next opportunity. I’d be curious to know if McCown at all looked similar to the man who escaped the bridal shop.

i think it’s important to note the type of stores he is going to. It was mostly antiques, shoe places. A very complex and unusual path i’m thinking it’s something to do with the fact the stores are low on customer numbers throughout the day. It’s a perfect scenario for a killer. I also wrote the comment before the third section. Proud of myself lol

I think Terre Haute is the key. I think he lives (or lived) closest to there. The reason why is that he probably did plan to kill the woman who ran the store, only to find out that her son was there instead. This says to me that he surveilled that store more than the others, so perhaps he lives closer to that location. Killing the man at the register instead of in the back says to me that there was some frustration involved. He wasn’t able to complete the act the way he preferred.

It’s definitely that last guy who died in 2015. Gives me chills. 9 women matched from his car and was in Kansas and looked like the sketch. NINE?! What the hell… add the 6 along I-70 and in Texas if you really want plus however many other disconnected murders there are and he’s probably at around 20 people whose lives he stole. What a sick, twisted guy. He makes my blood run cold. Rest in piss

Very nice video. I do have a small correction to suggest. Ejection marks on casing from cartridges just show the case was ejected from the gun and so would leaving casings at the scene. The use of a high capacity magazine (clip is a common misnomer) is not indicated by the presence of ejection marks. The marks can suggest how the casing was ejected and therefore the kind of action (semi-automatic, revolver, bolt-action, or something else) helping to narrow down the type of gun used.

I always believe that the yogurt shop murders were among his first murders. I believed that 2 of the victims surprise him . Because he wasn't expecting them to show up and that one girl was in back when he shot the one bunette he was after. The others were coming in for a ride home from the sister who work there. This happen in 1991 Texas in a shopping center off I35.

Too many differences. The killer(s) in the Yoghurt shop burned the bodies, gagged the victims and also fully raped them, the only similarity is the shots to the heads, of which many people have done before. The age of the victims were also a lot younger. I dont think its linked.
