I got one recently and I really like it. I'm playing very varied stuff and it copes well with all sort of tones. I was surprised how weighty it can be, tonally, considering it's basically a Strat. I find the neck pretty chunky, but comfortably so. I've been using a couple of modern Charvels for the past few years, I love them, but this is happily finding its way into my playing. Also pretty versatile, as you can hear here. Great video.

Every decision that went into the design of this Strat-style guitar seems spot on, from the pickups, to contoured heel, locking tuners, and small offset shape. I actually don't like the colour that much (as cool as it is objectively), but I could see Ibanez offering different colours if this is a hit, which I think it will be.

Cool shape and the sparkle green is refreshing. The neck is lovely and I like how they do no headstock break angle. But an SSS setup to me is just a softer looking stratocaster and a strat is easier to play at the higher frets. What I'd love to see would be a gold foil triple humbucker version of this. just that. I've never seen that.

Hi Philip, what was the quality control like on that Ibanez ?. I had a problem recently Ibanez FRIX6FEAH Iron Label guitar. The first one had small gap in its construction, between the fretboard of a guitar and the neck at the top. This type of tear in the wood would only get worst in time. So, this went back. Second one that was sent out also had failing with quality control. As this had a marks underneath the coating and at the base of the body of the Ibanez FRIX6FEAH and a small dent which had just been painted over. And a minor mark at the top neck. Which has now put off any Ibanez. You don’t get these problems with all the Fender brands and Eppiphone guitars. The quality control on these are great.

it was around in the 90s and came back and the past couple years. The old ones you could get with Lipstick pickups in SSS, two P90s, or two Humbuckers. All the current ones are based on strats or teles so far. They also have basses in this body style now that look amazing.

Yvette Young is bad-ass. I have been watching her interviews & listening to her live performances "Hydra" - she is a special player. She motivated me to practice more.

Yes I was thinking that positions 2 & 4 sounded muddy, but everything else is nice. Is there a mod you can do to get rid of that muddiness in positions 2 & 4?

I’ll bet you didn’t hear her say she switched out pickups from an SX during her rig rundown. SX guitars are great for what they are

Been doing research and wanting this guitar a while now. Curious about the fact it’s meant for the e and d string to be a half step up. When writing music I like to have my whole guitar in E flat. Shouldn’t cause any issues to be tuned down all the time??

@@powbobs wow. I used to do 12s as a younger man. I actually enjoy 9s at the moment. They make my telecasters and stratocaster come to life.

Darrell M Since she a trained classical pianist from the age of four her fingers are really strong so she tends to bend notes sharp with anything lower guage.

@@powbobs I could see that. She does a lot of tapping also and slapping strings so you definitely need heavier strings for that.
