Well, this was an unexpected surprise :) I was an assistant director on Ice Pirates and they gave me a line. I'm the gal who laughs and says "I don't think you'll be up for it." Fun movie. This was a long time ago!

So when I was a young kid back in the early 90s.. I was home after school one afternoon and stopped on this movie on Cinemax.. minutes later this scene happened and fucking traumatized my ass to a wtf degree. I decided to track to the scene down to see if it was as horrorfying as I remember way back then. I then narrowed it down to this movie and found this in a search. Knowing now they kept there pieces in tact comes as a relief. Fucking movies back in the 80s.

I was a young boy just trying to find something to watch on TV. I happened upon a local TV station that would play old movies with commercials and edited for time and TV ready sensors. TV 38 if I recall which will date me and slightly dox me 😅... At any rate here I was a wee lad watching the telly, as my brothers from across the pond would say; This movie happened to be on and I started watching it. Not soon after the scene comes on and to say the least I was absolutely mortified. Young enough that the only thing I knew what my junk was for is where my pee comes from, and yet I still had this overly sense of dread and despair that made me turn the channel. Let me tell you this one scene traumatized me for years, the choppy contraption with the teeth would haunt my dreams. I also never knew the name of the movie and years later I tried to describe it to friends and family and they were all thinking I was nuts (ironically) that something like that would play that on the TV. Only seeing someone using a gif of that choppy bit was I able to track down this scene and pontificate my shrink's question and my answer "well it all started..."

I was actually a young 5 year old boy at a sleep over with two girls the same age. The mother of one of the girls decided to watch this on a pay channel (I believe it was The Movie Channel or Movie Max). The response the mom gave was interesting; she hugged me and then turned around to her daughter and said "Look Sandy, they're girl's now. They got turned into girls." I don't think either girl was watching the film. Needless to say I did not sleep well, and felt guilty about using the restroom for that night.
