I respect Art but Chris Adler is such an iconic drummer that have written such classic drum parts, that its hard to just forget how it used to be played by a such an influential musician. Again for me in the drumeo video, the snare tuning isnt doing it, dosent fit the LOG sound imo 🤷
@keithwoodcrest

Yeah I love me a big fat snare drum but part of the reason the drumming on the earlier LOG albums, in my opinion anyway, was the high pitch of Chris's snare. And that tight crack with the deeps bass drums and toms is what I expect when I hear those songs

I felt that way after the s/t record, but I think Art came into his style on Omens. It's a little more straightforward/less groovy, but it's a solid LoG record. Plus Art is a very good live drummer - brings a solid energy to Adler's parts, playing them pretty faithfully. It's certainly not exactly the same as before, but I don't know how you think seeing LoG with Art is worse than staying home.

@@andishawjfac I respect Chris and Art immensely as drummers and the work they put in. But part of that work Chris put in was writing a lot of LoG music and specifically his signature style of groovy metal drumming in this song. Odd for you to say he clearly doesn't want to play the songs, last I knew Chris left the band because of toxicity in the group so there are reasons beyond "I don't want to play this anymore". I gotta think a man with his passion wants to play, but without whatever drama they have going on. I know they've done breakdowns on songs Art's written since he's been in LoG, it just seems weird to cash in on a well known song another drummer had created. It'd be like Jay Weinberg doing a breakdown on Duality or Mike Mangini doing a breakdown of Dance of Eternity.

I hate either the tuning or the mixing of the snare drum. It’s missing the ringing sound chris’ used to have. It’s not the character and sounds like someone else is playing the drums instead of lamb of god’s drummer. It’s incredible how just a snare sound can make so much difference on their music. Chris adler is a genius.

I mean no disrespect. It wasn't Art who should have done Laid To Rest drum breakdown, it should have been Chris Adler. That was his era, not Art's. Art should have done a Memento Mori drum breakdown, that's what it is. I'm not sure if Drumeo called Art to make this video or because of Art's own wishes, but for me, they should think first before doing something. I feel bad for Chris Adler 😢. To be honest, I haven't listened to Lamb Of God since Chris Adler left the band. Anyway, Art is a great drummer.

What Drum Kit does Mr. Cruz use? I know he uses a ludwig. But what material and what's the whole kit called?

Major L to anyone who thinks art doesn’t fill Chris Adler’s shoes. So tired of reading/hearing people bash this guy. If you go see them live I promise you won’t give a shit who’s drumming but yo neck gon hurt when u leave.

This is THE song that got me into LoG in the first place, albeit not even their version, Guitar Hero!. I felt Art just said drum stuff and couldnt break down the song as it wasn't his, like theres no emotional attachment. I have seen Chris' breakdowns and they are better. Lamb will be here next month, the first time in a long time, since i broke my back. Looking at going to see them w/Pantera and also by themselves. So will be good to see Art live. I have seen Chris many times previously. Hadnt heard of Chris' accident for awhile after it happened, but then was surprised when Art popped up. Bought Chris' album but was scammed by the record store in Melbourne. One thing that does irk me is Randy always says "his" band, not "our" band, like the others don't count. I know he was an @$$ from the early videos, but thought maybe he had wisened up. So not sure still exactly why Chris went. Good luck to Art though, see u in a month maybe, if my back lets me walk around!
