I'm glad that Nick said the #1 thing that black men desire..even over love is respect. The problem with this is (some, not all) their definition of respect. I know several men that feel this way, but their DEFINITION or VERSION of respect was/is distorted & is rooted in toxic masculinity. They believe women speaking up for themselves while respectfully disagreeing with them or doing anything seemingly "offensive" or challenging is disrespectful. In their minds, if they can't control her, it's a form of disrespect...when in essence, their insecurities are being confronted, therefore they feel emasculated & the only way to avoid facing their feelings of inadequacy is to deflect or shut the woman down by any means necessary...from fleeing to verbal or even physical abuse.

@Kingme3144Ай бұрын
It's a great message but it's not the truth. I've worked in corporate internationally for the last 2 decades. You're not desired and it reflects in the marriage rates. Her excuse was they are just trying to stick to black men. Other races marry their own and it's a cultural L for them not to do so ie they aren't seeking black women and they never have been. The consensus is they think black women are too masculine, too loud and too ego driven. If they like you it's because you are one of the "good ones" not because they respect black women as a whole. Globally women are borderline 2nd class citizens in their own country so how do you think they feel about foreign black women? She's being disingenuous for the sake of her ego. People doing their job ≠ global respect. I'm a black man for the record and if I lived 100 lives every one would be with a black woman but she started pulling made up stats out of the air for the sake of her argument.

I resonate with her position on black women being the most disrespected. We have to stop bottling up all of these isms and feelings and attaching them to our life experiences. We all don't all have the same experiences or perceptions. What's insane is that we associate and label common life mishaps as racist or disrespectful. What really needs to be examined is why simple things such as being bumped or misunderstood trigger feelings of inferiority to feel disrespected. Know who you are, be in control of yourself and no one can ever own or define your life experience.

That level of SELF control is despised honestly. People are poked MORE when they flow with the circumstances and don't give in to outside darkness or energies.

Tell him Cheyanne!!! I am well traveled and the only place we have a problem is in America! I am highly respected period! And I am sought after in all arenas! I do not by into none of that and Cheyanne is speaking facts facts facts!

Dr. Bryant is the woman every healed and unhealed man wants because she is self aware. A woman aware of her values, clear on them, stands on her boundaries and has respect for herself is a verry attractive thing to any man.

I was surprised that Nick hosted a real therapy session, that’s cool. Nick was transparent and a willing participant. This can let other black men know that seeking professional guidance is okay. I’m sure many people have questions about his relationship choices and it was interesting to hear his perspective.

The way she broke it down 29:36 had me at hello, u better preach. The things that men specifically black men put on women especially the black women who is most loyal they beat up with their toxic masculinity aka ego because of the trauma they have seen other black men go through. Most black women will reveal the toxicity and once that happens the black man feels disrespected and attacked when all she is trying to do is elevate the mindset and move as a unit. But instead the mans ego is ruined and he flees because he does not want to deal with self. Most of them flee to white women or women out their race because there is no challenge. When I say challenge I mean she will not challenge him to come at his best self. The perfect example of how a man thinks controls and demand respect is The Color Purple, What's love got to do with it.

She literally made it up. She tried to conflate education with respect and nick isn't smart enough to call that out.

Apparently, listening is like being a brain surgeon. And Black Women are only disrespected in the Black community by the Black Men we support, uplift, take care of, help to do, etc. I honestly haven't been disrespected by men but came close to and it was a Brother. Other races of men are incredibly respectful to me all the time.

I think Nick got so triggered about the lack of control within himself because he’s never worked through his trauma from having a chronic health condition. He seeks control externally because he can’t control the reality of his own mortality and has never worked through that.
@jo.onthego4 ай бұрын
THIS is at the root of Nick’s issues in recent years. He wants to spread his seed as a sign of vitality because he doesn’t want his lupus diagnosis to define him. He’s still wrong for how he’s viewing living a legacy to the world by having so many children.
@kjenki114 ай бұрын
@@jo.onthego and what is sad is him knowing that he has the condition and that he can possibly even though not hereditary but depending on the genetics of his randoms it may come about in later years of the child's life. so whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy are you out here procreating with fucked up as genetics knowingly .. lol ...

Dr Bryant thank you for explaining the difference between high value and high functioning/vibrational versus low value and low functioning. I would love to hear you converse with Kevin Samuels. He only focused on high value but high functioning is also very necessary. It’s the difference between being healed and being toxic.

I think this is a great conversation and topic that we needed. But Nick needed to allow her to also speak without interruptions instead of being defensive to validate who he is and his point. However, overall it was great and we need to hear from DR Cheyenne Bryant more...

Nick is hard to have a conversation with and it’s hard to watch at times. He over talks, tries to add humor to deflect and appears forever stuck in his ways. Dr Bryant is a great guest and I’ve learned a lot when she is able to express herself fully. I will be following her on her channels.

Sooooo happy for this because I’m like “black women” are not always looked down upon or at the so called “bottom” like that’s not true and I hate that people hear that and run with it. Also some women/men just want mature and emotionally intelligent men/women it’s really that simple
@brishaberries01014 ай бұрын
Blk men need that trope to keep us feeling like their our only chance at love and happiness. Although they have no intentions of changing, but it gets us to acquiesce to their dysfunction simply because they tell us the world hates us and outside of what little they have to offer, we have no other options. Black men benefit personally off of negative stereotypes of blk women that's why they do it so often and so publicly.
