Could gum disease cause my minature poodle to go from walking to not walking. She very clearly has gum disease at 8 years old although her sister is perfectly fine over the last 6 months she’s gone from walking to bed ridden and no other diagnoses has been given from vets. Please help with any thoughts? Also can this be reversed with teeth cleaning and extraction to let those teeth heal and see her walk again?

When should we start brushing a cat or kitten teeth?

Good question, the sooner the better. You can start by rubbing the mouth and teeth with your finger to get them used to brushing and work your way up to using a brush but it really depends on your kitty. Make sure to never use human toothpaste as it is toxic to both cats and dogs (use on that is pet specific - enzymatic is recommended) and a soft bristle brush.
