Hi, there’s no the broken ice machine problem in Russia. I just watched CNBC investigation about that hilariously mystery broken problem and asked some friends who are quite close to fast food business(kfc, subway, Burger King, etc) and when I was asking about ice cream machines (according to CNBC report) they always tell me in response that they HAVE NEVER MET and never heard about that! And a couple of times when I visited McDonald’s and ordered ice cream I was asking employers about that and they had no idea about that problem either.

Because over here, in the USA, there was a whole 2+ yr campaign/movement for the service industry (including McDonald's) to pay their employees a livable wage for the work with did. A livable wage for work that they completed… There were protests and it was a part of many politicians’ platforms when running for office. So McDonald’s decision to continue paying Russian and Ukrainian employees while not working is a bit surprising, to say the least. But who am I to block another’s blessing. Cheers!

It may seem that way to foreigners. We don't usually smile because we must. Meanwhile polite British built the largest colonial empire and built their riches on slavery. Also polite smiling Americans bombed half of the world. As about Ukrainian war: there are literal nazis there. Azov members have tatoos all over their bodies covered with swasticas, Ukranians banned all opposition parties, killed thousands of Russians in Donbass region, oppressed and killed Russian-speakers and pro-Russian bloggers and polititians. Now they demolish all monuments of past Ukranians (sic!) and Russians to try to severe hundreds years connection between our peoples. They desacrate monuments of Soviet soldiers of the WWII that saved all the world from nazi scum, even put out the Eternal fire monuments to the Unknown soldier. Also Ukranians tried to ally with war-mongering block NATO, which isn't friendly to Russia either, backed Russia's enemies on every war Russia held and announced building nukes, pointed at Russia. Russia tolerated their behaviour for far too long.

Besides the 60k employees, who are still getting paid for now this is being portrayed as if it was a loss for the Russians when in all reality it’s a huge win for them! Sounds like so many Russians will now save more money and also eat healthier foods by cooking at home, why can’t we get McDonald’s to shut down or leave the United States? Also those 60k + employees will find more productive work for the Russian economy or start their own business projects to create analogues of products that were previously supplied from abroad.

In Australia , if you look at who the main customers of McDonald's are , they are usually young people who don't cook for themselves , families who cook for themselves are not the main customers of McDonalds because they can cook a really good healthy meal at home for their family for about 20% of the price they they would pay at McDonald's for it .

Supposing the whole supply chain is local (which it probably isn't but for the sake of argument), the main issue would be that there is no organizing company with the skill set or size to come in and do something like that. Imagine what it would take to just reconnect the different logistics under new leadership. Also, as much as Russia might make it seem nowadays that it doesn't want or need Western investment or products, that's at most a periodic nationalist sentiment for the time of the war. Most logical case being, at some point the war will end without WW3, sanctions will lift somewhat, and Western businessmen will only touch Russia with a very long stick.
@drewainge10592 жыл бұрын
@@CeoLogJM supply chain can be "localed" even if not 100% today. Burgers are not like some products where parts you can only ordrer from antarctica (figuratively speaking), it's only a logistcal or corporate nightmare if you do that to all branches nationwide at once. Start with 2 to 3 branches and let it grow in 5 years. You already have the market. Im sure there are medium-large food franchises now in north america that didnt exist 5 years ago.
