A video I developed for the DoD on Ostracism.
Ostracism refers to the exclusion or rejection of individuals or groups from a particular social group, community, or society. This could be a deliberate action by others, or it may be self-imposed due to perceived differences, nonconformity, or other reasons. Historically, ostracism has been used as a means of punishment or social control in various cultures. It can have significant psychological and emotional effects on those who experience it, leading to feelings of loneliness, depression, and low self-esteem. In modern times, there's a growing awareness of the harmful effects of ostracism, and efforts are made to promote inclusivity and acceptance in social interactions and communities.
