Corey Stoll is one of those actors who's fantastic and steals the scenes but you don't really remember him because he's such a chameleon. Like "Who are you talking about?" *shows picture* "OH THAT GUY! I love that guy!" I think he's very underrated.

He was emulated Hemingway's speech patters perfectly. And yes, he was over-acting for comedic effect.

Corey Stoll is the best. I kinda feel like we were watching a date rather than an interview but, still, good stuff. His interviews intrigue me.

Sa voix est tellement intense, puissante, profonde, chaude que tu jouis dès les premières minutes où tu l'écoutes !!! Rares sont les hommes qui ont une voix aussi viriles.

I'm one of the few people who wasn't overly impressed with Midnight in Paris, but I loved Stoll as Hemingway. The guy is one hell of a scene stealer. I also thought he was the best part of House of Cards.

Cory portrayed a great Hemingway...His natural voice is strong and masculine as I would imagine Hemongway's voice to be. Let's not forget how handsome Corey is...his eyes, his mouth. "A moveable feast" watching him.

to be fair, I think it's more of a caricature anyway, played for comedy rather than accuracy

that was the point. Corey in this video points out that his run on sentence like talking was done for comedic purposes.

It’s an idealized version. His “manly way of saying it,” the unnaturally long sentences being weird because that’s kind of how they all talked back then.

Just saw this today and if nothing else the movie got me in the mood to reread The Sun Also Rises, which I’m doing right now. I also recently finished The Sopranos for the first time and it almost goes without saying that I found The Many Saints of Newark really disappointing in basically every aspect *except* for Stoll’s performance as Junior. Definitely the most impressive performance in that thing, he captures Corrado without going so far as to seem like an imitation. Funny that I should see both of these movies as bookends to my week, and his performance stood out most in both of them.

Yes he’s better with the hairpiece and he needs to gain a few pounds. If I had passed him on the street I would never have recognized him as hemingway. And I’ve seen that movie several times.
