Hi Miss Estruch, What is the impact a mutation might have on survival if it affects courtship?

If the mutation causes the individual to perform the courtship ritual differently, then they may not be able to attract a mate and reproduce successfully. It won't affect the individuals ability to survive, but if many in a population acquire mutations that affect courtship then it could affect the whole species survival, if fewer individuals are reproducing successfully.
