You know I’m not as eloquent as you are. But I just have to express the joy that I find in watching your videos when you post them. One of the things that just warms the cockles of my heart is how you treat your children and your husband. The evidence of love amongst all of you is so noticeable I am grateful that you present such a positive uplifting family image and I bless you until next time.

I read a study that said on average people need to hear things SEVENTEEN times for it to sink in. The study was being used to determine how often paid advertising should repeat. lol That really changed my perspective.

LOL. I’m guessing advertisers have upped the “sink in” numbers. I swear I’ve “heard” that lose weight ad at least 50 times last week! 😮😬😬😁

The repetition helps not only the listener, but the teacher too. We are less likely to forget them when teaching the next time, kind of like muscle memory only for our brains. It's like any skill well honed. Appreciate your sharing the details, and I'm a decades old gardener and teacher myself. But the, a gardeners are teachers really, everyone we share how we do something with others who are learning. The kid and Ben jumping around, dang that would be nice to have that energy! They are so much fun to watch. ❤

As a long time trainer of adults the standard delivery was 1- tell them what you are going to tell them, 2- tell them, 3- tell them what you told them. Best way to help with information retention.

I copied your "10 tomato seeds in a cell" idea. Now I have 16 varieties with 10 plants each of tomatoes. LOL Two of the packets were over four years old and I still had a 50 percent germination rate, higher than I got from planting one or three of them before.

I have appreciated planting my tomato seeds in the same way this year and used TP tubes cut in half... 36 varieties 5-9 seeds in each and most came up... Been uppotting into School lunch milk cartons... about 1/3 through the enormous amounts of seedlings... I'm grateful for my Newly Built Antique Glass Window Greenhouse that I'm using for the first time, than having them in my home like last year here in North Central Washington!

I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for teaching me all that I need to know to start gardening without fear. In past years (the last 4 running) I've always started from seed, seedlings die, then spend more money on starts, only for a few of them to survive the summer. Most of which die partway through. I used to say I couldn't keep a garden, now I know, I just didn't know how to! You've taught me so much. This year my husband and I built our own raised beds. I've started over 200 seeds with over 95% germination and seedling success! THANK YOU! Our backyard will be full of food this summer. My children have all gotten on board in helping mommy sow and plant. It's an amazing culture to now call our own. So, just in case you didn't see it yet . . . THANK YOU.

Hi Jess! No worries on explaining simple things. Everyone needs to be reminded at one time or another, and not everyone thinks about things like this. Besides, whatever you say to us is never said in a condescending way that would make anyone feel bad. You have such a way with words and talking to people that is awesome. I find it very comforting listening to you. Oh my, the new baby goat is so precious and beautiful. It's too bad you can't keep him since he's so different in color than your other goats, but I understand him needing to go with his Mom, and you only want does. Seeing the boys out playing and watching the baby goats playing with Ben was so much fun! Thank you so much for sharing! BTW, dinner looked delicious!

Speaking of explaining simple things, 1020 trays, 1020 trays, 1020 trays! Everyone talks about them. With holes, without holes, slings, pots ... shopping for them is INTIMIDATING. Thanks, Jess!

You have a goat named Mayhem? I have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I gave them nobleish titles because, of course. Female is Lady Mischief Anne Mayhem and the male is Sir Siegfried Moose Mayhem. Littermates, male and female. We went to pick up the male and the person who was getting the other last puppy decided not to so we got to choose. Of course we couldn't choose so we got both. Wonderful family farm with horses and arenas. They own Rogue Valley riber rafting company. The breeder is Rogue Valley Cavaliers. They only breed small amounts and all the dogs live in the house. Couldn't be better. Cavaliers are all around awesome little dogs. They can even hunt and keep up with horses on hunts. They can point, flush and retrieve. Little hound dogs always with their noses to the ground looking for something. I want to train them to forage truffles and mushrooms. Live in the Pacific Northwest. Give them a job/outlet to do with that energy.

I watch your videos at home first and re-listen multiple times at work while I clean houses. I can retain so much more information that way. " The bigger the plants get, the more water they drink." Well, no kidding. But, until you said it, my brain never made that connection. You get into the seedling season a few weeks and think... I feel like I am now CONSTANTLY watering these plants! Now I won't be surprised by the change in watering but WATCHING for it instead! That simple statement will totally change how often I check the plants for water, and won't be "stupidly" surprised when the bigger plants need more water lol! 😮☺
