Technical issues this time around my friends: my microphone decided to stop working- living out here makes it hard to get a new one quickly, so this week I’m going back to using my iPhone speaker to record my audio. Thanks for you understanding! ❤️❤️ In this video you’ll see a very simple weaving project - I am just a beginner and wanted to start with something that would not be very challenging. I highly recommend it as a relaxing craft!

When I was a little girl, I used to escape from the stressors around me by hiding in libraries. That pattern has persisted throughout my life until now, at age 72, I am a writer whose house is filled with bookcases and at least a thousand books. Yes, since my home is in itself a library, I always feel safe.

I love watching you make all sorts of crafts, teas, skin care products, recipes and such, especially from the things that you've grown or foraged yourself. You've inspired me in so many ways and have reawakened my creativity and artistic side which had been placed on a back burner for far too long. I'm a passionate gardener and I will be growing many new plants this year that I will use to make tea blends, pressed flowers and all sorts of projects similar to your own. I had forgotten how naturally relaxing it is to create, especially when you're creating something that you enjoy. Before you even realize it, you've been reduced to that slow way of living that is widely talked about but rarely practiced in our daily lives. When you're creating, that slow living pace just happens naturally, improving your mindset and allowing to focus and live in the moment. What a wonderful feeling! I would love to see more of your garden this coming season and how you like to prepare the food that you harvest. I thank you for your wisdom and for sharing much about your life. I deeply enjoy these videos and look forward to them every week. I hope you are well and wish you all the best.

I can absolutely relate! I’ve always been a daydreamer and used to think it was a sign of laziness but, as I grow older and with the support of my loving partner, I now know that this is something to celebrate. For example, watching the bees in my garden gives me that feeling of pure joy and that’s something I’ve passed on to my daughter. We (half) jokingly say that we must have been bees in a former life.

I've always made things for my home. Even as a small child I'd cut out pictures of flowers and butterflies to stick on my furniture. Being a single mother of 4 really pushed me to be VERY creative so that my children didn't feel like they missed out. My youngest will be 18 this April and I have to say, they've taken after me in creating their own personal styles. Even moving to a semi rural town has helped in bringing some calm into our lives. Though mine is far more “conventional” ( i live in a ground floor condo) I, too, love making my space mine. I tweak the decor, find a new picture, or add something to a bookshelf that I’ve rediscovered in my closet. I collected mice figurines years ago and i have them peeking out from different places. They bring me great joy. I make cards (my main hobby) to send to family and friends as well as a card club I am part of, and this brings me great joy as well. Solitude has always been my friend and creative outlet is as necessary to me as reading my Bible or drinking water. I love your cottage, it is so very quaint and charming, and your paintings make it all the more charming, though I’d definitely build a bathroom if it were mine 😊

It's a simple, one-room cabin with an oversized, elevated deck where I can sit quietly and watch the forest live & breathe at any time of the day. That ability - to just stare into the forest, out onto the mountains and up into the sky whether from indoors through large windows, or from the deck or from the rocks and boulders - helps create the relaxed personality of the house. I think that you are a wise woman to make your home a place of sanctuary! That is how I feel about the home my husband and I designed and help build. We are blessed to live on 6.5 acres in a rural setting. It was always my goal to create a home where people walk in and know they are safe, loved, and cared for. A place they immediately feel like taking off their shoes and curling up on the couch...and that is exactly what has happened. This is truly our sanctuary from a world that is spinning out of control. Bless you on your life journey!

Right now, I'm having a hard time regaining that sense of home within the our small Japanese apartment. We've been living in Tokyo for a year and a half, and there's SO much that I see daily that helps fill me up creatively. The tricky part is bringing that home. We don't have the freedom to furnish or decorate exactly as we'd like. For instance, we have a wonderfully curated art collection that we had to leave back in the US. And here, our walls are bare. For now, we rely on Tokyo's stunning sunsets, incredible nooks and alleys full of character, and hidden shrines and temples waiting to be discovered around every corner. While we can't exactly bring these things into our home, they make up the environment in which our home dwells. And that definitely helps.

I have a very cozy and content life and one of the things that I did was eliminate the television. I have a large computer monitor that we watch movies etc on, but the constant bombardment from commercials and ads and vulgar shows is gone. Now when we visit someone with a tv we are shocked at how bad it is after ten years. I have a son that is almost twelve and I have never met a more content and happy child. We also live rurally so he has land to play on and a creek to mess in. He has never once told me he's bored and very rarely even asks for things. It makes a world of difference in your life molding it to what you want. I love a romantic, vintage, cottage core style home. We have a low light home with candles at night and a bright, sunny, uncovered windows in the daytime.

I have not had a television since it went digital in Canada eons ago. I don't miss it. I borrow videos from the library but they sit there unwatched. I go for long walks in the woods, paint and study languages online for entertainment. We need to ask what do we want to bring into our homes, and what do we want the atmosphere of our home to be like? Then ask whether television brings that. Maybe it brings the opposite. May you enjoy your peaceful home and your life. 💝

I love your channel. You have inspired me & made me realize to slow down & enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Art is my hobby in my spare time -- I love it I wish I could do it all of the time. You channel has also provided me with the inspiration to simply & downsize all of the "clutter" I've accumulated over many years. I've rehomed many items & donated. However, but I've kept my favorites things handmade fairies made by small business artists nothings is commercially made only by their hands. I think as adults we forget how to reintroduce the magic we felt as a child back into our adult lives. Thank you for inspiring & reminding me that I can still enjoy my art and what matters to me the most. You are an impeccable artist with many talents. Thank you.

Every second of each video is so beautifully filmed for us to enjoy. I love bringing natural things I forage into our home. Tea, wonderful smelling candle, a good book and our dog beside me are some of the ways to enjoy our home.

You, and Ruby Granger, are my two favourite youtubers. If I could meet two people in the whole world, it wouldn't be some famous celebrity, it would be you and Ruby. How I would love to sit down and have a heart to heart over a cup of tea or hot chocolate with both of you. I do not have much for friends in my life (please do not feel sorry for me, I am not bringing this up for any of that) but to share that my beauty and sense of wonder comes from some of the similar things you share here--reading, animals, nature, baking, my imagination, and I call these things "in leiu of friends"' because that's sort of what they are, only they are real friends to me.

Thank you so much, that is very thoughtful and kind - it is always lovely to meet another kindred spirit ❤️ I have few close friends as well, and while that works for me I also love to connect with others like you through here. Thank you for sharing 🙏

Years ago I was given a weaving similar to the one you made. Mine has a variety of yarns, some thick some thin. A row of shaggy, a row of smooth. I turned it into a tote bag. I lined with sturdy fabric so the items wouldn't disturb the weaving. I get so many compliments on it. People can only buy so many mats and wall hangings, but I can always use another bag. 💜🌞🌵😷

Wow, I love how your mind works. So very much in touch with your essence, seeing & appreciating that connection as a wonderful gift - which it is. My Place would be my garden, digging, planting, improving, harvesting, & sometimes just quietly & contentedly reveling in what I see & feel there. I don't know exactly where you live Paola but I'm thinking it must be somewhere over the rainbow.

I love your creative side and the artistic bent of mind. You don't need to seek too far for your inner peace, it is right within you. In a chaotic, materialistic world, most of us do not know where to seek our comfort and solace. Like you, I look within myself through writing, reading, doing up my home, cleaning it and at times connect with my few close friends. But I admire your thoughts at such a young age. I came to my realisations only now, in my 40's and thank God for that!

I would love to figure out how to have a life like this. I seem to never have time for my art and things I used to love to do before getting married and having kids. Maybe I’ll be able to get there again someday. You give me inspiration. Now I just need time.

Dear Ptcoachdenise, I'm trying to find time for my art too. I enroll myself in online courses, saturdays when my husband is at home. It help me a lot. Now I am trying to paint each day, usually at night. Is such a blessing, I fell more happy and content. Praying for you that the Lord will give you the strategy and time to paint and enjoy your art.

I just learned how weaving by hand works. So cool! Enjoy your whimsical and peaceful personal space; I'm envious. I have a child so there is little personal space to speak of. I miss the days when I was single and care-free.

Even a chair , bookshelf and small lamp could be your personal space. Easier said than done but something to try for.

@@pattyjacoby7142 Thanks for the suggestion--but I sometimes would need to go out of the house for a couple hours to feel alone. I'm naturally a loner. It was not until recently that I can go to the restroom without being disturbed.

Beautiful! One thing about your videos that are so wonderful is that they are quiet and serene. The world we live in has become so loud in many ways. Not just in sound but in insight as well. The world needs quieter times to think and ponder about the choices one makes in life. So, your videos are a beautiful escape for me. Thank You.
