Think you might be gluten sensitive? Take the quiz:
www.glutenfreesociety.org/glu...
Let's discuss the relationship between nutrition and thyroid health, specifically in the context of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Selenium can reduce thyroid peroxidase antibodies, which are markers used to diagnose Hashimoto's. Iron deficiency can impair thyroid metabolism, and autoimmune gastritis can lead to low iron levels. Lower vitamin D status is also found in hypothyroid patients with Hashimoto's.
Clinicians should check patients' iron and vitamin D levels and consider selenium supplementation. Inositol, another nutrient, has been found to decrease TSH levels and thyroid antibodies in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism.
There are also genetic factors and environmental and nutritional factors that contribute to autoimmune thyroid disease.

My hand is raised. He dismissed my desire to clean my diet first and wanted me on drugs right away. Let me think about it for a second…NO.

Never had a doctor address my high anti-bodies. Each & everyone addressed nothing told me I'd need to take Synthroid for the rest of my life. I'm done with doctors and the AMS. Going to follow a keto diet and IF. With Intermittent fasting and keto and winging this all by myself & "Dr Google" I lost nearly 84 lbs. Finding Dr Peter Osborne has restored my faith there are doctors concerned enough to dig for root causes. God bless you for posting your vast info and explanations. I had given up hope on finding help

It would be nice if you would talk about Graves instead of Hashimotos since everyone talks about Hashimotos more often. I realize it’s more common and that is the reason why more talk about Hypothyroidism but there isn’t a lot of info in regards to Graves. I have Graves that’s in remission and I want it to stay that way.

None of my doctors discussed diet. Levothyroxine caused me to gain weight, lots of weight 😳 When I begged an endocrinologist to put me on Armour NDT he yelled at me,! He finally wrote a script for very low dose Armour but at least I didn't feel depressed any longer. After that I gave up on western allopathic medicine, take OTC NDT since 2016.

I hope you found a new doctor! If my doctor yelled at me that would be the last time he ever saw my face! He probably gets a kick back from prescribing Levothyroxine. Do yourself a huge favor and find another doctor that will work with you. You are paying him to do a service for you!

Is any of this going to matter if the reason for hypothyroidism is from a metal on metal hip replacement? It's been known since the 1940s that cobalt causes hypothyroidism. Why did they make hip replacements using cobalt on a ball and socket joint that releases metal nanoparticles when you walk?

I am somewhat confused with the statement that high levels of TSH results in reduction of thyroid function! I thought TSH prompts the thyroid to produce T4 and some T3 (or increased thyroid function).

SO, I need Selenium and iron for my Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I know there's loads of Vitamins and Minerals in all the Milk I drink. I know my serum iron is low plus Saturation and yet because they are 'just in range' my GP won't do anything about it. E.g. my seum iron is 13 range (11-28)......I have Arla lacto free milk

Teeth and gum health (oral health) is a result of gut health. Fix your gut. Cut out sugar and all processed foods. Eat fresh food, lots of avocado, grass-fed meat and butter/ghee, leafy greens, broccoli sprouts, pasture-raised eggs, sauerkraut and fermented foods, coconut/extra virgin olive/avocado oil, drink spring water, use non-fluoridated and SLS-free toothpaste, take d3+k2, magnesium (ReMag) and electrolytes (ReMyte).

Good afternoon Dr Osbourne thank you very much for what you are doing for us. I have an problem i have been taken thyroid medication for the past 5 year now I have not seen any improvement at all, I keep repeating the same medicine over and over again nothing changes, I am losing weight, my hair and I have a sleepless night. The doctor that I go to don't say anything all she keeps asking for is to so test over and over again she will not explained what is in the results all she will say just take the medicine, and the worst part is that she will ask me us me and my daughter to buy medicine which is not even related to thyroid and I don't know what type of thyroid I have she didn't even explain what type of thyroid I have, can you please help me and my daughter so that I can save another life, if there is anyway you can help us please I am begging you please help us save our life. I all the way in West Africa The Gambia thank you

@peter osborn Why do i eat 100 gr liver everyday and I have a good vitamin d and vitamin e but I have vitamin A defitiency?
@dirtydirkie
@dirtydirkie 17 күн бұрын
chicken livers are rich in vitamin A, but you should not consume it on such a frequent basis. you could get copper toxicity. a better strategy is to incorporate smaller doses. Example, you could make homemade burger patty mixture (beef mince + chicken livers) so that there is about 1 chicken liver per patty. freeze them. and eat one every other day
