They were pulling competing one-upmanship on playing the "bigger person" enough so that they weren't making any useful decision at all. Only Brinley kept them from turning on each other in that spiral. Even worse, since one of them needed two, so claiming that single would mean zero progress for anyone until another was found. It's not a wholesome team, it's a team built on fear and obedience, with prizes handed out for keeping up the act... definitely not healthy, but *very* effective when it works, and in this case, it clearly works.

I know you're talking about other players in multiplayer games. And that's true because humanity is trash. But games should also be challenging, that's why the souls genre is so popular despite often being so frustrating, an actual sense of achievement (and the wonder of their worlds) is a huge stress reliever. Easy=boring, that's why I switched Ghost of Tsushima PC to the hardest difficulty in the first 1/4 of the game and it's been way more engaging, immersive and great since then. Irritation and anger because something isn't easy is not healthy.

@@cenciende9401everyone gets to enjoy games as they like. If someone wants to play games on easy to where they are essentially walking simulators and they enjoy it more power to them. More power to you and the rest who enjoy soulsborne type games. For me while I want a challenge in my games I don't have any desire to play a game designed by a group of sadists. If the very design of the game is torturous to me no matter how accomplished I feel at beating an area I will not be enjoying myself. At my point in life I play games to escape from the multitude of impossible challenges reality presents, not to encounter more.
