I find it pretty weird that yes, this is a sponsored video, which is sometimes okay, but when you have not used any of their products previously, I don't think it's okay. Quote from the description "DISCLAIMER: This video was sponsored by Nationwide. I have not personally used any of Nationwide’s travel insurance products." Not good.
@heynadine9 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Yes I have not used Nationwide's travel insurance plans, but like I have mentioned above, I have and ALWAYS use travel insurance plans when I take trips. I just use different providers, since I am Canadian and therefore I must use different policies. If you're from the UK, you would use a different policy as well. But the basic underlying ideas and policies are pretty standard with all providers. Hope that help :)

i think we should expect and support channels we like when they need to do promo videos. They need to pay the bills too, and youtube ad revenue only goes so far. If we want her to travel more and make more travel videos, we are going to have to deal with some sponsors now and again. Yes, she doesn't use nationwide, but what if this was her only offer at sponsorship? What if she wanted to make videos for products she uses, but no one offered? The way I see it... the joke is on the sponsor, as I watch and laugh at her getting money for making the video where personally i have no intention of using nationwide (as in good for her). I'm curious on how you feel about that.
@pianoaround9 жыл бұрын
I agree. Its important to use the product that you are promoting or at least try it. How else would you know how good the product is? wowrogue192 But I also agree with Michael Sheridan in that Hey Nadine has to pay da billz and make a living. In the end, we are all right. :-)
@wowrogue1929 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree, she does have to pay dem bills, just like the rest of us. But, y'know, I just found it weird, that's all. xD

Most credit card companies include travel insurance with some type of cards so you might want to check with your bank if it's something you could use. I use Desjardins's Prestige Platinum card and it includes an incredible plan, plus it gives back 1.5% of purchases so basically if you spend at least 8900$ / year the card is basically free and you get all the benefits. So what I'm saying is : you might want to check with your current bank if you are illegible for some kind of travel insurance, it might be the case and it might not be as expensive as you might think.

to me that seemed a little too much like an ad. i personally have an insurance as well for world wide travelling which covers 6 weeks. the good thing about EU is, that my insurance in Germany covers EU states as well. so its pretty great. i do think however that insurance is of a huge importance while traveling, so the idea behind the video is helpful

The multi-trip policy is good advice, especially if you'll be abroad for the year. Often folks living internationally for a short time can fall into a weird gap where they aren't eligible for travel insurance from their host country, or their home country (at least without paying a huge amount in fees, or having to use a site like world nomads). So even if you don't know your precise destinations at the time of purchase, a general, multi-trip plan might be a good investment if you know you'll be travelling while living abroad :)

Thank you Nadine. We are covered thru our exclusive private travel membership with these types of services, and it's cool that even when we purchase any travel service, the cost turns into points good for cash usable for 10 years on just about anything, travel or non travel. So we get the best of the best that isn't offered anywhere else. Love your video and your spirit! God bless you Sis! Cynth'ya

I never used my travel insurance, although I always have one, just in case. One tip from me. Make sure your insurance is covering exactly what you are planning to do on your trip. If you buy the most expensive option it doesn't necessary mean you are covered for EVERYTHING. I had premium annual insurance which i bought before I went for my 'Big trip' and later on when I spontaneously went with friends for little snowboarding adventure and I had an accident, my policy didn't cover that. Lucky it wasn't that bad and I was able to go down the slope by myself. Cheers! - G.

Before purchasing, make sure your medical insurance doesn't already cover for overseas, no need to pay twice for the same cover.

I love and live by the saying "IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD TRAVEL INSURANCE, YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO TRAVEL" ......in addition make sure you know your policy back to front, I've had in incident in the past where I wasn't covered ($1200 cost!).....and other one where I was covered(broken hand, only paid $50 excess)....make sure the hospital or doctor you are going to (especially in America, I spent a year there) is a partner, or whatever you call it, with that insurance company.

My family only use Insurance if we're travelling more than a week. Like if we're away for 2 weeks or a month we use our Insurance but if we only go away for only a week then we don't really need it. Me and my family went on a 2 month vacation in Japan and my mom slipped on some wet slippery rocks and she broke her left arm and we went to the hospital to have a surgery. After couple of weeks we got the hospital bill and it cost us around $800 - $900 (CAD) but thank god for travel insurance! They paid for all the medical/hospital bill! Insurance is very IMPORTANT while travelling.

I was in Myanmar and had to go into surgery with a stay of two nights and then returned each day for just over a week to have bandages changed. I was their first foreign patient so it made the the two days interesting. I had my travel insurance so all was covered.

I'm yet to use my policies, but I always purchase travel insurance. However, on a family holiday my sister got sick - the travel insurance offered to pay for an extended holiday for my entire family (5 other people for 2 extra days, based on the doctor's estimate). On a holiday with friends, one of my friends slipped on ice in Sweden (Lulea) and broke his arm. The X-Ray and treatment would've cost him a lot - but travel insurance covered the vast majority of the bill.

Awesome idea for a video! Many people who dont travel very much dont think to buy the insurance. Im just starting my traveling and am already planning to buy travel insurance. I'll be heading around the US for this year, but am headed to Peru in the summer of 2016. I won't be leaving without the insurance.

Thank you! Yes, it's something alot of people don't think about, but trust me, I've had friends that gotten a bed bug attack who found out she was then allergic and had to spend a day in the hospital. She was VERY glad she had insurance cause it would have been a big cost!

Well, ill never take those....here's a short story why. A guy took his gf for an island for vacation, he took traveling insurance for both of them as he always does while traveling. While having fun on the beach they decided to swim, the ocean was kinda rough and windy, the girlfriend went deep in the water and vanished. After massive search they announced that she is probably drowned in the ocean, she was never found and pronounced dead, now the guy is accused of murdering and they think he did it for the money "The insurance he took in the airport prior to their departure" It's a true story.

Hi Nadine, I went on a cruise and my step-daughter got sick. Although I had medical insurance, all the costs from the cruise ships were outside normal and customary. I ended up paying 10k out of pocket on a cruise that was bought for me. Would your travel insurance people fully cover this kind of problem? On a completely different thread, did you ever get any great responses on your "dating profile" video? I think you are an incredible person and felt like you were trolling. You couldn't have been serious.
@heynadine9 жыл бұрын
heyo!! that's aweful to hear, obviously I don't know the fine details of what the cruise specific travel insurance would cover but I know it's been tricking in the past cause cruise can go in and out of other countries :/

Isn't insurance just giving your money away in case something happens, and when it does happen you've already covered the cost 10 times over? Isn't it better just to have emergency savings, which can save you money, without having to gamble?
