I was sick and I stayed home from high school and watched Ghajini at home for the first time. This was when CDs were pirated and my parents rented it out from an Indian grocery store. I remember watching it. Falling in love with the two leads‘ love story and feeling so much anger and sadness with Amir Khan’s character. I listened to the songs everyday (Latoo, Aye Bachchu and Gurzarish) Those were the good old days when Bollywood movies left a mark on you emotionally

I would say that the reason Ghajini remains iconic is really just bcoz of the story...Kalpana's murder scene literally gave all of us trauma....i watched this movie in theatres and the way she was killed was so damn brutal and i had never watched movie's heroine getting killed like that...i remember while theatre crying on that scene...also it still lives rent free in my mind

Ghajini is one of the remakes that was a superior to its original I absolutely loved the Climax sequence of the film especially when Sanjay recalls his memories wirh Kalpana with that gift, the moment Shreya Ghoshal soothing humming starts that whole scene always hits me different through my heart ❤️ The fact that Aamir changed the climax to the original and re wrote a fresh concept for the climax was alot more impactful. This movie has attached alot of emotions and feel for us audience since at the time of its release in 2008 ❤️

Just for information, Raavan (2010) was shot alongside Tamil Ravanan (2010) by the same director (Mani Rathnam), producer and crew. Just there were some cast members swapped like the lead role actors. And these movies released on the same date in respective regions. Technically, it was not a copy.
