The Inbetween’s Evil Secret! (Haunted Mansion Tales from the SMP Recap and Theory!)

Whenever Karl time travels or visits the Inbetween, he always looses all of his inventory and exp, and he always somehow manages to escape/wake up once his character dies. Maybe his mind has travelled, but his body is still where it used to be. If Ranboo is also a time traveller, maybe his Enderwalking is what happens when his mind goes time travelling, and his enderman instinct is left in control

I have a feeling it's dream who controls the inbetween. Karl loses his memory more after everytime he time travels but what if it's him going there that causes his memory loss rather than him time traveling. He keeps books to keep track of what's going on but he finds it very important to not let anyone see it. (keeping in mind that Dream writes the books in the inbetween) Maybe it's Dream who's saying that and uses Karl and Ranboo (basically as mannequins) to learn more abt the inbetween by reading the books they have written (just like he wanted to use Tommy to learn more abt the afterlife and told Tommy to write his experiences down on books) finally when (using the info from their books) he has learnt how to time travel and access the afterlife, he gets to the inbetween and writes those books so he can free the actual Dream (I'm rlly sorry if this makes no sense). I feel like that person in the inbetween telling Karl that it's not a save place is Ranboo; I think his memory is fine when he's in the inbetween so the person who is watching (Dream) can gain the knowledge of what Ranboo remembers. He has terrible memory loss bc he use to be able to time travel but now he can't time travel anymore and is only able to teleport randomly from 1 place to another (so I think he lost his power to time travel and that's what he's left with bc remember Karl also time travels randomly). Onto the inbetween there are a lot of books with smile faces (which is literally Dream's logo) it starts to make him (Karl) go crazy as he speaks to other Karl's. that voice keeps on saying its an amazing place trying to manipulate him into thinking that he's safe. The voice starts to gain his trust and eventually Karl trusts it so much it can control his mind, what he learns in the inbetween has become the voice in his head that his mind believes is there. Also I thought it was a joke but every now and again Karl will be like to Dream's character "you remind me a lot abt someone ik." What if that is Dream and he's (as in Dream) used time travel to escape the present (prison) but he knows his face is familiar so he wears a disguise, every tfts he's been in, his character always has that green smiley face. Also ik for the lost city of Mizu, Dream's character didn't have the green smile but he did look like Ranboo and when Ranboo "visited" him in the prison (in his mind) he stated that he (Dream) is Ranboo so... (idk if this makes sense but if u don't understand u can ask me questions or counter bc I love speaking abt the theories :)

Theory about the other side. The other side is a place founded by the future karl that was making the question mark books (who ill call carl to not mix anything up). Carl was the first ne to go against the author of the books and found the truth of the in-between. Also i found a cool thing about both. The in-between and the other side is like the yin yang. In light, there is always darkness, and in darkness there is always light. We this this by the in-between being white but having withered roses and the other side being dark but having white flowers. Also karl, the one we watch, is a special karl. For some reason All the other karls cannot see him. They may have loss their memory but shouldn't they have atleast enteracted with them? My theory is that our karl is a special karl that was able to escape the inbetween. He is the chosen one to help the other karls and I think the in-between is Dream. Like dream, the in-between is controlling and manipulative and there is smiley faces in the books.

A theory I have about the other Karls in the in-between is that along with being unable to leave maybe they have lost all they're memories so have become useless to the in-between/the person writing the books. They may kind of just be hollowed out versions of Karl and maybe that's what the in-between is trying to do ti each version of him.

I love listening to you talk theory, congrats on 200! A small theory that I believe in is that Ranboo was conjoined into a Enderman because the Inbetween found out that he knew the secrets behind its beautiful and peaceful castle. But before then the book underwater, and under the tree, was written by him because it was the safest place at the moment. After getting rid of Ranboo's memory the main writer notice that it/they needed to make sure the next traveler never found out the truth. Ranboo left books hidden so the next one would know that they needed to find a way to escape and/or stop who or whatever is in control.

11:13 kinda reminds me of a choose your own adventure gravity fall book i own where one of the endings is the main characters getting trapped in a void in between the multiverse with other version of themselves with no way of getting out. It even does something really scary and have another version of the main character copying what the actual main character is doing. Showings as they speak another version is getting trapped.

this is a really cool video! as someone who doesn't have a lot of time to keep up with all of the lore a recap + theory type style series sounds very nice, but ultimately it's still up to you! totsmp lore is so, so intriguing and i can't wait for it all to tie together some day

I think that ranboo is under the control of dream but maybe the elder walk state is activated when he time travels for dream. So it’s activated when he’s out of his body and gathers info for dream. Then he writes it down and Karl finds it. But then the other side or his inbetween side isn’t being controlled by dream and trying to help Karl.

Maybe the in between isn't MADE by someone....maybe its just the in between Let me explain what im thinking. Maybe the in between created itself?? Like the egg??? We don't know what created the egg but its still there and it manipulates people. What if the in between is just an 'it' and no one is above it. That would make sense why it keeps repeting same stuff. It would also make more sense for a future Karl (or someone else) to be trying to warn Karl. Maybe the other autor is trying to free Karl from the in between, because the other Karls are stuck (I dont know if I made myself clear but yeah) That was my theory :D Also, great video!

Ik this is a stretch, but what if the inbetween is a metaphor for the people that hate the egg and the people that like the egg (people that like the egg being the lowercase and people that hate the egg being the uppercase) and the inbetween is the egg. And karl in this metaphor is tommyinnit bc tommy is immune to the egg and doesnt know what to do about it and karl doesnt know what to do about the inbetween and he feels both ways about the inbetween. This is just a theory for fun, so take it with a grain of salt

I don't think the smiley faces in the Inbetween books are entirety related to Dream. Dream uses this type of bracket: ")", not this: "]". It can mean, that it is a different version of Dream, but I doubt that. I think that the smiley face is more of a symbol, that C!Dream copied from somewhere. Symbol, that means something. The Inbetween seems to be a living organism, existing outside of time. But in order to exist, it must need some kind of energy. An energy, that it drains from time travelers (that's why there are mentioned bedrooms). Nobody other than time travelers can reach that place. Maybe it doesn't have enought energy keep a stable portal? Also, why the wither roses? The Inbetween presents itself in white colors. Wither roses are black. Why would you put a black flower there, when a ton of white flowers exist. Wither roses are connected to wither skelleton, one of a few mobs that cause withering effect. So, it either means that: A) The "it" that wrote the books in The Inbetween is themselves withering, dieing. B) Or, it means that it's somehow stealing Karl's energy to keep itself alive.

I think is three people why I think this is because in the beginning it same it was pass karl because this Karl we Watch is the future Karl who forgot what is he and why is travelling to pass, person and future, The Second person is dream because of books with the Neither roses third person is ranboo who was is memory all to together because in second video of tales from the SMP ranboo was in all of them ... and with the books this “?????” Canberra ranboo because of who he was right books to remember in that can be ranboo but this is my theory sooo ya 🥲🙂
