The inbetween's main colour is white. And following the theory of the inbetween ranboo. As you loose yourself more and more you begin to blend in with the inbetween. Notice Karl's clothes when he's in the inbetween. Not look at dreams skin. What If the white blob character represents how he has been in the inbetween and the green represents how he still has control and has halted his decay and possibly reversed it

My theory is that the imbetween is exactly what it says it is. It's the place IMBETWEEN life, death, time, and place. This is the place you go when you die and you get to choose to be a ghost or go to the afterlife. This is the place you go inbetween time traveling. And, perhaps, when Ranboo learns to teleport, he will glimpse this place for a moment as he teleports. It can change depending on why you are there. Karl's imbetween is fit to help him gain his memory. Perhaps dead people see three doors, "Hell", "Afterlife" or "Ghost". And perhaps Ranboo will see a cozy, comforting area to relax for a few seconds when teleporting.

In Karl's recent episode of Tales from the SMP, most of the books laid out around the in-between have smiles on them! That reminded me of the time that there was a smile written in Ranboo's memory book so maybe dream had something to do with the books!

Maybe at first the authors worked together. In the first book it mentioned something like "explore the castle to forget less".. The secret author wants Karl to explore and find out things.

Maybe The In Between is actually a bad place, What if this heavenly feeling in this castle is just a cover up for how dark it actually is, Notice how in one of the episodes ending I can't remember which episode exactly I apologize but the books were weird, Especially the one saying "DON'T STRAY AWAY FROM THE PATH" repeated in 87 pages, Also maybe that is Karl from the future telling or warning himself that some thing's bad is going to happen, Also if this castle is truly a place to feel ease then why are there wither roses all around the castle while those roses literally symbolizes death? Idk just my theory... Can't wait for future episodes and theories we can come up with the lore that they are giving us! :D

I understood the inbetween as a alive consciousness, i think the inbetween desides when karl time travels and when he returnes. i also think it is also writing most of the books. however some of the books seams to be warning him and i don't think the inbetween wrote those. i think this castle is a trap and something sinister is going on. The inbetween might be causing Karl to loose his memory to manipulating him, saying "oh i can help you fix it" so he will do it's bidding.

I think the other author might be ranboo instead of dream, as ranboo has been in almost if not every tale so he would know what karl had just experienced, we also know fundy slipped up and called ranboo "mr time traveler". Ranboo and karl also share memory loss as well as the white motif of the between seemingly corrupting half of ranboo. They also both tend to write diarys of some sort to help with memory loss

As of now I'm thinking Connor could be a potential time traveler as well. Connor has the same skin in both the wild West and the haunted mansion episode. He also has the same character name in the present DSMP in both the wild West and haunted mansion Tales from the SMP episodes. However I don't think haunted mansion should be counted cause while it does take place in the future it's not too far in the future so this instance could just be an older Connor. Now remember the phrase, once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, thrice or more is the start of a pattern, four or more is suspicious or ridiculous. So far this only happened once or twice depending on if you say the haunted mansion episode is just showing an older Connor. If you think the haunted mansion shows an older Connor then you probably don't count haunted mansion as a potential instance of Connor time travelling. However I suggest looking out for Connor as a potential suspect.

Taking a step back, the Inbetween and the Egg are very probably opposites, representing good and bad. Maybe the author(s) of the books are trying to warn Karl about the Egg by showing him what has happened in the past, or what’s going to happen in the future, but don’t want to force him into working for them, because that would be too much like the Egg. But hey, that’s just a theory Edit: ok, so this didn’t work out too great

What if the prison wasn't designed to keep normal people in but because Dream saw Karl would become a time traveler he and Sam made it purely to stop Karl from continuing ( So now Dream himself can't time travel so he controls Ranboo). The reason the books always know what Karl is going through is because when Dream controls Ranboo, Ranboo is going in time or in the in-between and tells Dream what is happening but the hidden books are him trying to tell Karl to get ready and to watch out for what could be his end. In the Lost City of Mizu, his room needed to have access to the water, Ranboo is not able to go in the water being an enderman. What if in those rooms Karl's escape for his life was represented, in those moment's Dream could've taken control control of Ranboo to get rid of Karl once and for all because of something he does in the future or in the mind of someone. Karl tries to help Dream mentally but Dream's instinct if to get rid of him because the Inbetween has taken control of his mind as well. Or the Inbetween got rid of Dream themselves and moved to Ranboo's mind to continue their dark path. Sorry if anything on confusing I had the same theory and just thought about the 2nd paragraph in an hour right now.

Something else I thought of when staring at the ceiling, if the theory of Ranboo being very related to the Inbetween is a part of the plot. I think if the books ever say " Find my books" or "Find the books" it will relate to Ranboo's old memory books. Maybe to find a answer, or end the story.

I also have a theory, in the future there might be more to discover such as, finding more time travelers because, yet there is many universes, so you never know what could be next. If you see what I mean. Also there's all kinds of things like dream, so maybe its a person like dream, but is not in the dream smp world. Because if Ranboo can't remember anything in his blackouts. It might be because he was trying to time travel again, because what I believe is that every time traveler has a different schedule, like in a different time so maybe that's why Karl can't see him the fact that the inbetween goddess (I'm guessing) could caused him of losing memories since maybe ranboo knew too much. Which could explain why ranboo has memory problems, and I'm guessing ranboo was the first time traveler that was from the dream smp. Now I'm gonna go a little more deeper because I have so many ideas on what this could lead on, now if we look to the fact where ranboo (yet guessing again) wrote that Karl needs to get out, this might be before when dream smp was created, and when the inbetween didn't cause ranboo to not have good memory, and when Karl wasn't even invited to be in the inbetween. So I think back then ranboo could see the future, and knew that Karl would be there, or that he knew that there would be a new time traveler. This could explain why the inbetween goddess did the same to Karl since he/she didn't want to make the same mistake. Tho it could be someone else, and not actually dream just because there's a :] doesn't really mean anything if you think about it. Though this is my theory so I don't really expect anyone to agree.

This needs to be updated to the new tale because it was revealed that the in between isn’t a good place or more of the one who is writing the main books cause it seems that there is “it” that’s writing the main book and then whoever is writing the mysterious books like the one in the latest tale that tells Karl to find a way into the portal which he finds the books under the tree then so on with the stuff that happened with the in between on that tale

Opposite Theory about the writers maybe the person writing the book suggesting that there is nothing to fear is trying to protect Karl from the thing telling him to look under trees because maybe The author of those books is trying to make sure Karl does feel at home and maybe he knows that there is another creature/writer hiding in the inbetween so he’s trying to warn Karl not to stray off the path not because he’s trying to throw him off or trick him but because he’s trying to protect him. Hello! This theory has a lot more evidence going for it as of Tales From the SMP: The Haunted Mansion, where Karl actually goes under the tree. 'THANK GOD YOU FOUND IT, IT CANT SEE YOU DOWN HERE. DONT TRUST THIS CASTLE. YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH OF THOSE OTHER FORMS OF YOU, THIS PLACE IS NOT OK, FIND A WAY TO THE PORTAL.' After Karl comes back up, books have now appeared, yelling at him to stick to the path, angered he's found a piece of the truth. Then it tells him the castle is a time traveler's dream. And the theory it's Dream is backed up by now the smiley face appearing: :], not Dream's smiley face that he uses for Ranboo... but the one he's chosen to use on Karl. This is a lovely theory and I now can't decide whether I believe my own theory, that the castle itself is trying to trick Karl and that some other time traveler found the books, or yours now!

As we have now seen in the latest tales of the smp Karl goes to The Other Side which the castle in mainly black and in the In Between the castle is completely white which are the colors Ranboo is know for which further leads the connection between Ranboo and Dream because maybe Ranboo is a time traveler where Dream can control when Ranboo time travels and can take control in the In Between . In conclusion dream symbolizes the In between while Ranboo symbolizes The Other Side.( Also there is a ton of smiley faces in the books)

I wonder if dream knows that Karl can travel in time, but because he can’t stop him, he and ancestors have dedicated their lives to getting Karl for some reason and maybe control the world. But just like Karl, tommy came in the way of our present dream, so dream tried to trap tommy cause if he could control tommy, he could control anyone. But that didn’t happen and now tommy is died so ya.

Ok so sorry but I have a even bigger theory that goes off of your and because I love theorizing im gonna put it here ranboo is part enderman and inbetween but he has a red eye why is that what I believe is the egg is also part of him and the egg is part of the inbetween because we have seen karl react to the egg of the past and when ranboo tries to destroy the egg the egg tells him he's a traitor not because of what he has done in the past but because he was part of the egg once he was the prince of the inbetween and the egg! Now a enderman might have spawned in the inbetween by accident(we all know enderman spawn in all the dimensions so its possible) and the egg and the inbetween knew that this could help them take control of the regular world tho it took them a while to make ranboo a living breathing thing they did it and the reason he has memory loss is because he traveled in time so that more people would die but grew a mind of his own while time traveling and got stuck in the timeline he is in!(or did he?) He probably is traveling back to the inbetween when in enderwalk state and writes the books but at one point he awoke in the inbetween for a short amount of time and the secret book are him trying to tell karl that the inbetween is a trick!

GUYS HEY GUYS I HAVE A THEORY What if ranboo is using karl to find himself? What if ranboo is following karl, and making him do everything for him? The inbetween doesn't like this, but can't really interfere. thats why when karl went under the tree, the inbetween said "It cant see you in here." It also said "The inbetween isnt what you think it is." warning karl that he should be careful where and what he does. This also explains the 'dont stray from the path' books, as ranboo needs to find himself. Or is it ranboo? Ranboo said in a stream that he isn't going to do a villian arc. Being a villan doesn't fit his character. It would make more sense if a green man is controlling ranboo to follow Karl into the inbetween.

I think that the egg isn’t one egg I think that it has a version of itself in every place, time, and dimension. And that some eggs are different and the egg of the other side has protected travelers throughout time and it traded off helping travelers time travel but took small amounts of memory and power. I also think that the in between popes up out of nowhere and made the travelers go through the rift on top of the other side and takes more powers than needed from travelers. I think that quackity may be the mastermind behind the inbetween based on his hunt for power. I also believe that there is a MOTHER EGG who used to be the only egg in the other side who took the power from the travelers until the rift showed up therefor the mother egg didn’t have enough power and sent others all around usually just taking small amounts of power from people in those places, times, or dimensions, but some are too far from the mother egg and have developed a mind and ideals of there own and using there powers for evil. I believe that the other Karl’s in the in between aren’t karls, that are other travelers who have been drained of life taking whatever form possible to fill the hollowed out part of them drained by the author. My last theory is that the “ran” part of ranboo is the more edgy and evil part of him and is the voice in his head trying to make the “boo” side of him lose control so “ran” can take over the body. I also think that “ran” is a time traveler who has been to all times and is on a hunt for power which is why he knows the fate of the most recent place shown on the tales of the smp. Okay so this may be a little bit far-fetched. So Dream canonically had the demon which was the god of the server in him, Dream XD. Dream himself could time travel or could control the inbetween as stated in the video, and would appear to be good at it. If he can control time travelling, its possible that Dream possessed by Dream XD time travelled into the future after he was exorcised and was looking for a solution. Dream XD is literally god and can probably try to manipulate fate.

i have a crazy theory but im not sure if you will believe but hear me out. what if dream wasn't the real villian of the dream smp. What if he knew that later on something was going to happen (eg. quackity and the casino). so by dream pretending to be the bad guy in every situation he would uncover a tiny bit of the truth which would allow himself to have that bad guy mind set in order to paint a picture on who he thinks is gonna turn out to be evil later on. This also could link to ranboo and how his memories have been quite weird on not trying to remember like hes trying to crack a code in this sense (ranboo's enderman language) in order to find out the problem. So that maybe quackity has secretly been in control ever since. This could also relate to fundy being chased . if you look at the skin of the person whos chasing fundy , its actually the exact same of badboyhalo's but when fundy reaches the bed and presses to go to sleep a smiley face pops up ,but in a certain way that only one character has their face like that ,which is quackity. Which could hint that quackity is the new villian aswell as the casino music in the background like quackity ordered bad to get him as if hes like a leader in control.

as much as i'd like for the ranboo inbetween theory to be right, i feel like out of RP it's a bit implausible? cause wouldnt karl and ranboo have created their characters/lore at different times? plus we haven't seen karl and ranboo interact almost at all in canon, so it'd be odd if they were so closely related in my opinion hopefully this doesn't come across as rude cause im not meaning to, i'm just sharing my opinion

I totally see what you mean! l kind of just assumed maybe Karl came up with the time traveler idea around the time Ranboo made his lore since those were closer in the time frame and I know they write out full plots pretty early in advance to them actually happening. Because I think is someone else, someone that has nothing to do with dream. I just feel like, Dream isn't like that....he manipulates, sure, but, is just not his style... It could also be the fact of if dream can control his power then he could possibly send other people. it does explain that dream sends him VERY often because of that he looses himself and ranboo as we know doesn’t have good memory and seems to be in ever story that i have seen, dream having control of ranboo sending HIM to do dreams job would be the perfect cover up. The smile can in fact be the trigger but my question is that if he is half in between and half enderman then he could teleport can’t he? if so it could explain the way he keeped disappearing in the masquerade how he keeped coming back as a murderer in different locations then before or where he headed off to. OK hear me out in one of the tales of the smp (don't remember what the name was) you see this carrecter named 'ran' , WHO is full ender men(played by ranboo). and when asked about his past he said he didn't not want to talk abt it. AND karl said ran creeped him out so what if ranboo without his inbetween half is nothing what if ranboo's true self is 'boo'( i'm guessing that's his inbeetween name). What if ranboo is able to travel into the inbetween but will be missing his endermen half. may be able to help karl with finding out the truth..... this is just a small theory lol

I think that ranboo is under the control of dream but maybe the elder walk state is activated when he time travels for dream. So it’s activated when he’s out of his body and gathers info for dream. Then he writes it down and Karl finds it. But then the other side or his inbetween side isn’t being controlled by dream and trying to help Karl.

Right so no one is going talk about how Ranboo’s Panic Room is made out of Obsidian and so is the Other Side? If the Other Side is willing to protect Karl and Ranboo is ‘connected’ to Karl what’s to say that the Other Side wouldn’t protect him as well? You know? If dream is the author talking to Karl in the In Between maybe he can talk to Ranboo (That is if we are saying his white half is the in between Ranboo). If dream can’t see Ranboo physically the maybe he’ll do what he knows best and destroy things from afar. I’m not sure if this makes sense in writing but it makes sense to me so why not say something
