Now this is pure entertainment. Not that crap we get now. Louis Amstrong is a gem, and honored from what he did. He is worldly missed, and still missed to this day.

Agreed, now go tell today's young people that and see the response you get, it won't be nice either, because they don't give a damn about these people, the past or how things used to be or should be , and if things don't change soon we're all in for it,you can bet on it!!!!!

What does NY years mean? But I agree, I miss the comedy, the laughter, the class, the love. People nowadays judge each other and try to put each other down to feel better about themselves , so opinionated and political, its a terrible and expensive time to be alive.

Louis Armstrong appeared in the huge parking lot for 2 free Show’s in 90+ degree’s heat ,and we stood for the whole concert. He was amazing. I was 25 yrs. old and the mother of 5 girl’s. I will be 85 yrs.old on New Year’s Day ,2024 - this is Dec.20, 2023 . There sure is a lot of good music in Heaven now. Looking forward to that. I remember as a kid in the sixties, certain performers would come on TV or the radio and we had to stop what we were doing, shut up and listen. Satchmo, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and others were some of my Dads favorites. I remember telling this to someone and they were like weren't you pissed? Hell no, I was and am thankful for that!!

What I find amazing as someone who is born after this time, is how many great artist were working at the same time. Normally you think Like you had Satchmo, Elvis, then the Beatles and so on. But it really was like Satchmo was still on, Elvis was on, Neil Diamond was already working (still is), Queens was founded in 1970, Abba started in 72, Beatles were going strong and Michael Jackson started his solo career ind 71. Makes modern days look quite poor...

Louis Armstrong was a class act and there's not a single entertainer today that can match this man's style and class. I remember when he passed. It was a very sad day. Thanks for all of Johnny Carson videos. I've been a fan of him and everyone in the show for 50 years. When Johnny retired it was a complete end of an era. Jay did a great job and David Letterman was great as well but Johnny Carson was the kind and no one can ever replace him. All the late night shows are garbage and propaganda and most of all, not funny.

Moreso how Louis played a harmony behind his solo that echo'd and complimented him. These guys were masters of Dixieland Jazz.
@roberthoffhines5419 Жыл бұрын
it's called a "pixie" mute with yes, a toilet plunger. It's a old-time jazz technique. Tyree Glenn mastered it, as does Wycliffe Gordon today. These guys would literally make the trombone sound like it was talking, shrieking, laughing arguing... whatever.
