The dad did indeed have mental health problems for years after the quints' birth. And Danielle has chronic pain from complications that led to a hysterectomy a couple of years back. The reality isn't as rosy as what they show you on TV. I can almost guarantee you the Busby girls will be on Raised By Narcissists in 10 or 20 years.

As someone going through infertility and infertility treatments, it absolutely blows my mind how many doctors throw medication at people that makes your egg production go up and then don't monitor you. Our RE requires monitoring thankfully.

I know several women that have been through fertility treatment. They were all monitored. Some decided to reduce the number of eggs. Some didn’t. But as far as the Busbey’s go they are really religious. So god gifted them with multiples and they chose to go through with it. I really don’t understand that mentality because god wasn’t going to gift you with anything until science stepped in. Then science would dictate what would be the healthiest option for babies and the mother. But that’s not how a lot of religious people think. They obviously made the right decision for the babies. The girls are adorable. And apparently healthy. But I have to wonder if Danielle’s health problems now are because of such a high risk pregnancy. Or the effect of having so many children at once and being overwhelmed. I have two autoimmune diseases. Stress causes huge problems. If I get a cold it can escalate into a full blown flare that can last for months. And that’s just a cold. And if I start feeling overwhelmed and get stressed. Same thing. My health declines dramatically. I’m always in a balancing act.

The Dionne quintuplets born in Ontario in 1938 were conceived naturally and were identical. They had four other siblings. All quintuplets survived to adulthood but they were treated like a carnival side show. Their trust fund was mismanaged. It really was a horrible story. Every time I see one of these stories of someone having a lot of kids and then making a TV show about it always makes me think of the Dionne Sisters.

The Dionne Family was absolutely shattered when the Ontario Government removed the new born girls and gave them to the Doctor who helped deliver them. The parents could not do a thing and when the Doctor built a "care home/ zoo" right across the street from the parents of those girls saying they can come see and spend as much time with them as they like, the Doctor gave strict instructions to the Nannies and nurses caring for the girls that no one from the Dionne Family was to be allowed to see or speak to the girls. It wasn't until they became grown adults and we'll into their 40s I believe that the girls sued the Ontario Government for wrongful removal and alienated them from their family. They also sued for exploitation and for the money that was made off them for years. It is a horribly sad story but one that is still happening. The Ontario CAS is a government funded yet privately run organization that takes kids from their parents and sells them to new adoptive people. It's just very very hush hush now

@@stacey738 There are both male and female fertility medications you could ask your doctor about, if you you haven't. You can get medications to stimulate and help regulate ovulation and hormone treatments and a couple medications can increase sperm count, if you combined the male and female fertility treatments you might have a much better chance. Or you could consider a cheaper and more accessble alternative to IVF, IUI. It's not as 'natural' as fertility medications (but more natural than IVF) and might be a little strange of a procedure, but if you're desperate for another child it could be worth considering. It can be successful regardless of sperm count or quality and irregular ovulation because they concentrate and inject it close to suspected ovulation. I hope you get your second child!

I know a family with 8 daughters (born one at the time). Well-behaved and well-cared for. Lovely family. The kids are all grown up now.

Poor Blayke. I can’t imagine having to deal with the idea of going from being an only child to an older sibling. Becoming an older sibling to 5 sisters at the same time has to be kinda traumatic. I hope she doesn’t feel left out. Hard for parents to look after 5 newborns while giving the older daughter 100% as well. 😓

@@Justanothernerd1023 I literally said “kinda”. You clearly don’t understand how kids work at all. Don’t like what I said? Ignore it. Why even reply? It’s not like you’re gonna change my mind, lmfao. 💀

Kinda reminds me of my great grandma. She was born in 1870, married in 1885, and started having babies by 1888. By the time she was in her latter 20s she had given birth to 7 sons. The first died as a toddler, so she was left with 6 when her husband died of pneumonia in 1899. She won some property in Oklahoma during the land lottery and moved ger 6 sons in a horse drawn carriage to Oklahoma where she would end up remarrying and have another 2 sons before finally having a girl. 10th time's a charm, I guess.
