What a grand old lady! It was definitely a beautiful entertainment home of its day. Large rooms allowing for many guests. I can just imagine all the activity and fun!

Some of the most beautiful fireplaces I've ever seen in here, even the slate roof is a beauty. At least the family had a big sale and didn't just leave everything to rot.

Hi Kappy, from Scotland. Been watchin for ages but 1st time commenter. The Sumter house is so beautiful. It beggars belief that these absolutely gorgeous old houses are so abandoned. I've often imagined the many many good (and bad) memories there must have been. I wanna house with pocket doors!😂. Hope everybody has a merry xmas and a happy new year. Best wishes

I've been to a few estate sales, it's really kind of sad when you're going thru someones things, who are no longer alive. Usually once an estate sale is over anything not sold is either donated, or sold off for pennies on the dollar. I wonder why there is so much stuff left in this house. I can only imagine how glorious this house must have been in its day. Awesome..

First thing that got me was how far back the beautiful staircase was from the door entrance... I really liked that.. cause usually it's so close to the front door entrance.. I loved the shutters inside over the windows.. elegant feature having them.. and the fireplaces were gorgeous... thanks for sharing 😊

These mantles are some of the most beautiful you've shown us, the etching is really unique. There are some areas in this house that look untouched by the ravages of age, but i do wish whomever was in charge of the estate sale would have cleared out the stuff that didn't sell. Just love the interior shutters on the windows! And oddly enough, i once owned the shower curtain with the yellow rosettes!

Problem is no one can afford a house like this anymore and the people who can afford it would not be interested because they want to live in an affluent area. Unfortunately as the older generations die off, there will be many homes that meet the same fate.

Hi Kappy! Thank you for sharing this beautiful old house with us. I really enjoyed seeing it. My favorite parts are the fireplaces, transoms, and stained glass windows. What a find! The pictures/negatives you found aren’t that old-‘old’ being relative, of course😅. They are slides. We used to have slide projectors which you could load up with slides, then project them onto a blank screen. People would show pictures they took on vacation, etc. in that way. I have pictures my late brother took on slides from the 60s through the 80s. Thank you again for all you do. May you have the happiest of holidays!

What a special house. Wish we could see what it was like around 1950s - 1980s. Why don't the families take care of estates? Something may have been wrong with the property and it cost too much to fix it.

Based on the description I was waiting for the part where the audio dropped out but it never did, perfectly fine throughout the whole video. You could remove the disclaimer if you want to. What a house! So many fine mantles of such high quality and none have been removed. On top of those, the doors, trim and of course those incredible stained glass windows should be salvaged before demolition. What an astounding find Kappy!
