5:50 That St Tsylio plaque - reminds me of that long Welsh town name. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch My father was Welsh, with a name like Jones what can you expect. He was born in Kenfig Hill in South Wales and came to Australia in 1922 at 6 months of age via ship. I tried my best to learn this town name and I remember in 1988 on a world tour going to that town and boys came onto our tour bus and for a coin would pronounce the name. I was way off with how I thought it sounded. LOL Anyway that name has Tysilio in it.

I have watched your videos for several years from Ohio, US. When you were a ghost hunter, I loved your show. Now, I so enjoy watching your exploration of Wales. I have also been in love with anything to do with the UK,the legend of King Arthur, Merlin, the legends of Stonehenge, and anything with the history of Wales, Ireland, and Britain. I was a high school English teacher .I personally studied the Knights Templar, the masons, the Illuminati. I enjoyed the video of the slate caves and town. This may sound weird, but I have always been drawn to Wales. Maybe in a past life, I lived there. Please keep doing your exploring. I learn so much. I'm 72 years old and love learning. You do a fantastic job of describing and giving history.

@davidboyd4137 True. Learning about history shows us where we are today. There is nothing new that has not been before, just a different time period with different people involved. We haven't learned from the past.

Hi, I'm from Pennsylvania and also enjoy all Adams adventures. Only I had Grandmothers that came to the US from Wales and I love watching what they may have seen back in the day. Especially the houses he goes through I picture the Grandparents I never knew. Maybe you feel close to it because somewhere down the line someone in your family came from there.

@@joerendell4133 yes, I do unfortunately they are all on an old hard drive I removed from a laptop years ago along with videos of the place in the pet Cemetery they used to be a big urn on top of that stone plinth you have shown and the family’s pets were all pug dogs and cats . I still have three magnificent tiles I found in the property that I brought home with me , I’m told they would’ve originally been situated in a very grand fireplace. They depict autumn summer and winter spring was missing.

Hello Adam, my grandfather used to be head gardener at a huge house. With greenhouses very similar…some with constant heating so they could grow exotic fruit to go on the family dining table all year long. I remember him pollinating peaches with a feather, so large juicy peaches fruited in Nov/December..huge bunches of grapes hung down, and the fruit that literally kept him up at nights was growing pineapples….in large trenches in the ground, over hot pipes, lots of straw surrounding them…oh how they worried him, but they never failed to please the family! Root vegetables had been dug before frosts and buried in clamps of soil, so the looked a fresh when dug out as when buried, and the list went on, but for me it was a magic wonderland to see these magnificent peaches etc growing while it snowed outside! People don’t realise gardeners back then we’re responsible for all vegetables fruit and of course fresh flowers to decorate the house, so there were always young lads running round with barrows of coke to keep the fires topped up. Many young men were lost in the Great War who would have had jobs on the estate. Such a different way of life to today. Thanks Adam for the beautiful start to your film with that sad ship wreck,..I can just imagine you buying that now if it was water tight and you had enough pennies..be an ideal Adam House Boat! So sad how these things are just allowed to rot after working so well for 40 years!…..Now for the Mansion…such an exciting episode Adam! Many, many thanks for taking us with you on this super adventure! Happy New Year to you and yours! PLEASE stay safe, take mask &gloves and tell your best mate where your going if it’s aN Adam exploring alone job! You gave me so many close strokes last year! 🙄love you too much to lose you! Grand N. Wales Mansion built in the 17th Century left abandoned since WW2 was once visited by royalty. Built in 1612 by Sir Richard Bulkeley, one of the most prominent families in N. Wales. He died in 1621 before the property was finished to reach his specifications, which originally featured a Great Hall with two side wings forming a U-shaped pattern of the Jacobean architextural design. In 1776, London architect Samuel Wyatt built a Neo-Palladean style structure that incapsulated the Jacobean original with a curved facade, which is evidenced in the ruins balconies, terracies, and follies. The estate included a landscape park that over looked Beaumaris Castle and boasted of the finest views of any grand estate looking over the Menai Strait and Mountains of N. Wales. Baron Hill was then inherited by Lord Bulkeley's nephew, Sir Richard Bulkeley Williams Bulkeley in 1822. *Princess Victoria, the future Queen visited it ten years later. Another architect of London, Henry Harrison lowered the three storied mansion to two stories on the main house. Then added parapet balustrades and an entrance portico, as well as a massive square service block and central courtyard. A new entrance drive was added winding up from the south to the west side of the Mansion. The final remodeling of the estate took place in the 19th century by David Moore who added Italianate details. *During WW1 the dwindling fortune of the then Williams Bulkeley family meant that they could no longer maintain the estate. The property was vacated in 1920's and was uninhabited until WW2. *The mansion was requisitioned by the government and used as temporary housing for Polish soldiers. *Having found the building so cold the soldiers started a fire in hopes to be moved to a different accomodation. But the plan backfired, the fire got out of control and destroyed large portions of the mansions interior!!!! Instead of being moved to a new location, the Polish soldiers were situated in tents on the estate. Since the Polish soldiers burned down the interior of the mansion it was left in ruins. By the 21st century it was left roofless and gutless.

Adam, wow this video is nothing but spectacular. I am in awe, I mean awe. The start, that ship, low tide. I grew up in a small town in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. We would go down at low tide and dig for clams and high tide, to swim. That ship, wow, I mean wow. I have to say this manion, it was like I was in a dream, I am under water, a mermaid swimming along side you. It just didn't feel real, yet it was. Every room, and oh lord showing the pictures of the way it looked yester-years. Thank you for that. It is always so amazing to see old buildings the way they used to be. Thank you for bringing me along. If I had a wish, well a prayer, what I would give to be on one of these adventures with you. I would wear boots though, haha... Always boots if outdoors. Love this so much. Miss Jasmine & Matt. Happy New Years to you. Love you lots. Dale from Canada.
