It often goes underlooked, how much skill and toughness is required to be a GOOD journeyman. Respect to this guy, and all men who lace up and make the walk. And also.. look at that ratio! In 150 losses.. he's only been knocked out a dozen times... that's some pretty good going!

It's beyond good going. He's fighting at 175. It's a miracle he hasn't been stopped more often. That said, I assume most of his fights have been four or six rounders.

@@davesmith826 Actually the journeymen and "real fighters" often has an understanding NOT to KO the journeyman, because they then have to not fight for a long time afterwards (to recover, it's a rule in pro boxing). So it's because it has been fixed that way.

I wouldn't consider Lewis Van Poetsch a good journeyman. A low tier one, maybe club fighter. Definitely a tough guy though.

my first time watching a boxing event, Poochi was on the undercard. I didn’t even know he was a journeyman until his record was read out, I remember my stepdad mentioning how confident his walk in was despite being so bad and me thinking just how fucking beautiful he was as a man. I remember thinking it was so cool that he didn’t let it bother him and how he just enjoyed himself. A true staple of the underground british boxing community and genuinely a lovely guy

What about Super Bantamweight legend Pete "The Professor" Buckley from Birmingham who fought from 1989 to 2008. His record was 32 wins for 8 Kos 256 losses for 10 Kos and 12 Draws. Now that's a journey!

I can relate to this. I lost 6 from 7 amateur boxing matches. 3 by split decision including a close but unanimous decision to future world champion Sam Soliman. To me going to the boxing was like going to a funeral.

Having a "0" means nothin unless that record is filled with the best opponents in the division possible and/or having ALL major world title belts to be THE unified & undisputed champion of the world. In the past, boxers really did not care. They brushed it off and went to the next fight more motivated to win. Today it is like; "Oh no I lost, now I must retire sobb-sobb-sobb".

This video is pretty old so you probably won't see this comment, but I think it would be proper awesome if the boxing community could get SCI to put some of these guys into Undisputed, especially as they're gonna charge us for boxers going forward by the looks of it.
