If you hear: “Wealthy parents” “Can’t file a missing persons report for 24hrs” “Was allowed to leave the country” You know the outcome for justice isn’t going to go well.
Given his connections, the outcome was only surprising in that he was actually found guilty of murder, if only for a moment. How sad that this poor girl and her family will not receive true justice.

Not suffocates, she was strangled. What’s less less likely than never that a pillow fight ended in suffocation or strangulation, including neck bruising? it never ever happened, ever?? It’s like an adult’s death from falling down the stairs or a gun accidentally going off twice. Sometimes a perp gives one of those reasons and it makes wonder, why have a trial? They killed the person on purpose, just sentence them. I’m so sorry for her parents.

I can't imagine how this plight tormented her parents. The smack in the face to her parents from both countries is unfathomable. The way you told it was perfect, too, as I felt I'd had the rug pulled out from under me when, immediately after it seemed justice was FINALLY served, you related how the utterly corrupt & vile Chinese Govt reduced Coward Lee's* sentence. I let out an audible cry of: "Nooo! No way!" at the horrible news. I can hardly BEGIN to imagine how Amanda's long-tortured parents felt at that moment. SMH R.I.P. I live in Vancouver & I remember this so clearly like it was yesterday. The community was in an outrage & not just the Chinese community but everyone felt for this poor girl. She was the main focus of our news for a long long time. Up till then we had always been known as a very safe place for exchange students to come study, but after this there was alot of worry with not just foreign students but all students in general. Sooo terribly sad. P.s. I definitely admit that our justice system is screwed up. It's too darn lenient. Either nothing gets done or it's the equivalent as a slap on the wrist. Also our jails are so cushy here that spending time isn them is not what I would consider punishment. I can't imagine the torture that her poor parents had to go through while waiting for answers. 😢

Hello, Crime Reel, this definitely wasn't justice for such a beautiful soul. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Amanda's family. They had fought so incredibly hard for justice for their daughter, they received it, then it was snatched away because of some b/s narrative told by the killer. I'm sorry, but a pillow fight would NEVER suffocate someone -- unless you intentionally hold the pillow over a person's face. He got away with lying, and SHAME on his parents for helping to spread that lie. They spat in their faces, and they don't have ANY sympathy or compassion for Amanda's parents. How do they know, for absolute certainty, that they were so much in love? Were they there? See, this is what happens when you have the money to get away with murder. It shouldn't matter if one has money or not; the person committed a heinous crime, and they need to be held accountable for their actions. RIP Amanda
@FinnishLapphund2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that happens so easily, one moment you're whacking a pillow at someone as if you where playing whack-a-mole, next moment you've accidentally smothered them. And what, did his hands just accidentally slip off the pillow, and land around her throat for awhile, too? I will have to admit that as soon as I heard which government the boyfriend's dad worked for, I thought Uhm, I hope I'm wrong, but I think I know where this is going. I wasn't wrong. Daddy pulled some strings.

She was with her husband Brian Melito, and they were staying at the La Sagesse Beach Resort. (I stayed there, went there for lunch and swim, dinner and drinks, so often!) The culprit was a Dave Martin Benjamin. Weird occurrences that made the case so unreal, like the husband running away, to supposedly get help.

I found his camp he owns a mile away from the anonymous tip called into the shelter yesterday. So there is zero doubt that he did this. I also have the voicemail from the shelter about the tip in one of the links. All I have is my moped at the moment and that’s really hampering efforts I can make on the ground since this is 20 miles away and a lot of the drive is 65mph hwy, plus it’s been rainy and still below freezing most of the time where I’m at the in upper peninsula in Michigan. I’ve been posting about this like crazy in Facebook groups in the area, just for anyone to keep a look out.. but I know I need to get out there and just turn the car off and call for them and listen. It’s so quiet out there. I know people have said bring a can of tuna and warm it up so the scent is stronger.. but that might also attract unwanted creatures. :/

A life sentence to 7 years????!!!!! Wtf?!!!!!! What a freakin insult and travesti for Amanda's parents. This is beyond disgusting! Money talks. I only hope her parents are able to cope with this injustice in the company of their friends and loved ones. This case is gross!

Why do they say wait 24 hours? Is it so difficult to take a preliminary report? And if she shows up in 24 hours everything is fine
@TheCrimeReel2 жыл бұрын
exactly, why is it 24 hours? some people have routines that you would know if someothing is wrong within 30 mins

@@TheCrimeReel and don’t tell me that the police are so busy that someone can’t spend an hour on a report. What is more important than a missing person? Speeding tickets? And talking to a person they get a sense about whether something is really wrong
