In India monarchies were abolished in 1971 by Parliament Act , these Royal Families used to receive Pension and other stuff from Government of India on account of their agreement with Indian govt at the time of Indian Independence from British rule, they agreed to merge their kingdom with The Republic of India in 1947( in return they secured some monetary benefits from Indian Govt) but in 1971 Parliament passed a law abolishing all monarchies in India. Now most of these Royal families are in Hotels Hospitality sector ,Politics and other business line. They hold no influence in their territories ,no body really bow before them.
