As someone who played since release, the game has been slowly dying because of its balance changes over the 6 seasons of its lifespan, season 4 introduced a region lock preventing friends from playing with each others without a VPN and it got worse in season 5 where west coast players couldn't play with east coast. If you really want fast queues times nowadays you literally have to VPN to japan.

Main problem with the game is how bandai sold it, a gacha game thats not free is already a stupid ideia, but for a game like breakers where a match needs 8 players, that is almost like wanting the game to fail. Low player base? Huge waiting time between matches? Oof, i wonder why the game has those.

The great thing about Cell is that he quite literally can be adjusted to any powerlevel. He started out weak enough that he was forced to hide from the Z-fighters while absorbing regular people, he wouldn't be too overpowered in DbD if they kept him like that.

Breakers player here! i totally agree with all the stuff said in your video, region lock being there for no reason, the gacha etc, just to try to help breakers a bit u forgot to mention that there is a "Dragon Tier" it's basically a battle pass, u don't have to pay for it, it's available for everyone, you get cosmetics, in game currency including premium currency they also gift a survivor skin on the dragon tier but for some reason currently in this season we didn't get one. the gacha system (i hate it) it's just terrible, it's a terrible idea and we don't have a pity system tho, so if u want a skill really bad sucks to be you good luck next time the store: the stuff that costs TP medals (premium currency) are mostly just clothes that characters from DB wear, like goku's gi just to give you an example, so it's not that hard to make your character look good. i don't know in what season they introduced the tutorial you did the one where it makes it look like you're playing agaisn't real ppl, that was at least a good attempt to make ppl familiar with the game, back in S3 when i palyed the game i only had the main tutorial the one that kinda sucks doesn't teach you almost anything, also pretty sure after you finish the tutorial now the give you an active skill which i didn't get for free i had to pull it xd in conclusion: the game is not that bad, yeah it's horrible at teaching you how to play i don't think they even mention that you have to be the same level or higher to be able to hit the raider, but overall it's a very fun game when u know how everything works, which is hard cause it sucks at telling you how the game works so u gotta find out by yourself on how to play the game, right now S6 it's the worst season so far we've ever got, we got barely any content. Next season is the seccond annyversary of the game and they give us a lot of tickets to spend on the gacha and get lot's of stuff, i know the video pictures the game as bad which is true xd, but if you wanna give the game a try, the next season is the best time to do it, as you gonna be able to catch up with all the transformation and get some good skills nice video btw xd

A correction for the battle pass, we did get one this season it's just it's so lackluster compared to the previous battle passes we got before. For some reason in this season it's not even like they aren't trying, it's like they've given up

When he brought up the tutorial thing I was also confused as it seems he just made that up. The games prolouge/tutorial as well as all the "story missions" do not have wait times amd just load instantly. I don't think he's lying intentionally but that was just made up because he probably wrote this on memory and with little actually experience. Note how his only gameplay of the raiders is cell and not Frieza or Buu. Nor does he bring up how (like dead by daylight) each raider brings a unique challenge survivors must overcome. Still though rest of it is alright overall

This game had such a bright future right before season 6. Literally don't know what happened. I thought things were going well after cross-play was added in Season 5. Season 6 is such utter dogshit that I'm convinced that they're trying to kill the game on purpose.

They killed the game with region lock and coastal lock. There was no point of cross play if you can't play with anyone around the world.

Recent Breakers Player here. I more or less agree, but I personally think the main issue is mostly matchmaking. I don’t even mind the gacha element too much as it seemed that in previous seasons the game was much more charitable. However S6 especially is just not a good season in general, coupled with the fact that matchmaking is atrocious and you get a horrible experience unless you’re willing to put the hours in. As someone who has already put 100+ hours into the game I can say that it’s fun, but it’s not friendly towards people who are new to the game at all especially in a season that doesn’t give you much in terms of their gacha system besides floating device and grappling hook which to be fair are still good especially for base kit skills. I do think you overlooked how unique most raiders besides Baby are, but errors are to be expected somewhat

A better Raider system would just be to have a option where it will try to fit you in as a raider into a lobby, and if you don't get the raider role, you just get moved to another lobby to try again.

Technically there was a mode called raider queue where you can just main raider only instead just switching roles of both survivors and raider

@@tales5676 The operative term here is "was." Raider Queue worked exactly as the original commented described, but it led to games taking literal hours to get filled. Everyone wanted to play raider, nobody wanted to play survivors, and games can only start with seven survivors and 1 raider. There literally wasn't enough survivor players left to go around.

I got breaker’s on release and personally think it’s a good game. I don’t mind playing some survivor rounds before raider since I enjoy those, and the raisers’ uniqueness makes each of them fun to play. I got into matches quickly on PlayStation, especially after crossplay was added. I’ve started to play less as season 6 started though, really feels like the devs are trying to kill it with the lack of updates recently

My problems with the game: - Purposely makes it so you gain currency slow and near everything is expensive - Making transpeares and most skills only available in a randomized loot boxes (It got so bad to where i spent 150,000 zeni only to get nothing new). IHAVE ZENI! JUST LET ME BY WHAT I WANT. - The lobbying is small and i think it would be nice to have a bigger one along with multi lobby

It's not fair to put the blame on the developers for cutting corners. No developer wants to make a bad game. It's the publisher demanding they cut corners to push a product out in an unreasonable time frame.

I agreed what you said in beginning in middle itself but I feel like you’re comparing db breakers to dead by daylight way to much as it’s supposed to be inspired not based on. But I don’t agreed towards the end of the video, you say when you felt playing the game as the raider and survivor you’re saying you felt that in some matches that both raider and survivor are a bot, But I’m sorry but there is no bots in db the breakers in online matches, You’re just encountering bad players who are new to this game and look I’m not saying the video is wrong but there are parts of video are either right or wrong but the majority is why is the entire video is just showing tutorial you’re playing instead of showing actual matches. As for steam number player base, it’s dying there not a lot people playing the game on steam as for the console it still alive well sort of, for as season 6 it kinda dogshit

A Breakers player here, thanks for talking about the game's issues. I've been playing since the Last Minute Trial and once I tried it I thought it had so much potential. Unfortunately there are a lot of issues that I do agree with, however some parts in the video felt nick picky like the camera and reticle because sure it is wonky at first, but it doesn't take long to get used to it. The main thing I can totally agree on is the end when you talked about the devs cutting corners, and that so far is still the main issue about this game, the devs like Bandai and Dimps are just proving themselves that they waste potential and think there are no consequences. This game also proves that japanese gaming companies should not only listen to their little bubble for their japanese audience, but the entire world that cares for the game and pay attention to genuine criticism.

I like this video but I think the comparisons to dead by daylight were misguided, especially in the environment section. The games are in two completely different franchises and have different objectives (even if they share some) if the maps were tightly packed with corridors and the like the transphere element wouldn't be able to function properly. Also with how keys are handled it encourages the players to sesrch crates for their secondary objective (getting levels). Apart from that I think the video was great

Veteran here! Yeah I agree with everything you said about this game, however i do enjoy it. The only way i see them saving this game is if they remove coastal lock/region lock and remove rank. I don't think rank was necessary given how unbalanced this game is. I do think 2nd anni is make or break for breakers. If it turns out to be like s6 i dont think it will have anymore seasons.

I do like the unbalanced nature of the game, what the hell is a civilian gonna do against Freiza? Or, what can cell do when Jumped by truly skilled fighters? Is... not for everyone, but is enjoyable when you know what you are doing and the raider too. For both sides, the next fight could be the last

Wasn't expecting DS Phineas and Ferb music for the outro, haha This game was actually a pretty interesting concept that I was on board for. While FighterZ was good for what it was, Xenoverse was just getting really annoying to play as an online game I was really looking forward to Breakers. The game delivered for the first two seasons I played. I didn't play as much when season 3 dropped. I got back to playing a lot when Broly was added, but stopped altogether when Goku Black was added. Loss of interest I suppose. To hear that season 6 became what it is today is really sad. I strongly agreed with your point on the devs cutting corners for the game's development. I mean, what good is a niche concept for a game that not everyone is on board for if the devs themselves don't give it their all when making the game? Why even put in the resources to make the game if they just put in bad practices like gacha in a game you need to purchase with zero pity, and not really balancing skills based on the feedback of players that have put a lot of time in the game? This gave really could have broken expectations the longer it went on but they just didn't deliver with season 6. The anniversary of the game is just a week away though, they can probably turn it around. It's still nice to see this game be played though.

The worst thing about the Breakers for me is that they created models for character forms… and they havent put them into Xenoverse as DLC. Breakers has Frieza’s Second and Third forms, Semi-Perfect Cell, both Baby & Super Baby, etc, and the most we have is Oolong and Semi-Perfect Cell appearing in a boring F2P update for a single mission

DB games are mostly made by DIMPS nowadays not Spike. DIMPS made the Xenoverse series, Dragon ball heroes and Dragon Ball Legends + Dokkan. last Spike game was Kinect which was in 2013

This game is an example of another A symmetrical game that was inspired by dead by daylight but failed to catch that formula, and is another reason why Dead by daylight stays unchallenged in that genre til this day

The game was dead before even it's release. It was an ok idea that was executed horribly and you could tell from the first trailer, which is why it was offered for free on ps plus and other platforms in the hopes that someone will actually play it.

Ngl, to me this game was a cash grab. They put no effort in the game because they rehused models from xenoverse, graphics may even be worse than xenoverse, and super attack effects felt like a Tenkaichi. With all of that, included a gacha in a game in which you pay to access it. The only things that it may have not be reused is the clothing but that's it. I didn't even play it but I saw some gameplays, the game felt cheap and worse than fan made. I think the game mode was fine but it felt like a gamemode that they decided to take out from xenoverse and make more "profit".
