Abby belongs to the modern generation, and had a modern lifestyle, social media and such. The old traditional chinese families in the Chinatowns I've been to, do not show they are rich - it was their wisdom. @@katherinespencer2073 There's no information on their custody agreement but even when you're rich your children still want to see their father and grandparents. But if I didn't know these details of their lives I might think the same way you do. And I think you're right that 10k a month is nothing to him. His kids seem much closer to him than the mom, no doubt because of her mental health issues, but they might also love him extra due to his generosity.

One of the main reasons why they murdered her was to get her wealth. She was not legally married to her new husband. They just had a marriage ceremony. So if she died, then her wealth would not go to her husband but to her children, And the former husband, being the father of the kids they had together would get control of the money. Also, another reason why the apartment ownership is important is because if the Kwon family can prove that the apartment was as gift, they can try to sell the apartment to pay off their debt, etc.

this story really shows how vulnerable the ages 18-23 really are even though you're seen as an adult. i experienced it too but luckily i survived moral of the story: DO NOT TIE YOURSELF to any other person at that age. it may seem like a good idea now but with age comes wisdom (i'm only 27 but old enough to see it now). Abby is an excellent example of how hard work, dedication, and kindness is what brings a person success. With all her fortunes, she still could have lost it all if she had chosen a path of frivolousness. But she didn't. She still worked. And it seems like she worked hard. Sure she got a leg up from her families fortune and really didn't need to do any laborious work, but she still worked. And raised kids. And was a good wife. A good person. That's what matters. And Kadoorie Hills is actually a wealthy residential neighborhood within Hong Kong and not a separate city/town/village from Hong Kong. This would be important to note for prestige and for law enforcement and for the ever present cameras in Hong Kong since the 1997 transfer to China. This neighborhood would give his murderous family "face" or prestige while the outlying districts closer to the border with Shenzen and mainland China would lack in that prestige. Also note that China still has the death penalty for murder. Sadly it is now time for the Cannes Film Festival in France and Abby was last in France and Monaco in February just before her murder. She already had several important events to participate in during the Festival and her last postings and interview in OFFICIEL magazine detail how much she was looking forward to coming back to the Riviera. And she and her children were robbed of this future and the Kwongs deserve the most harsh punishment possible.

I'm glad her current husband, Chris Tam, is equally kind and generous, willing to adopt her other children. But sadly, this case has severely affected Chris Tam's family restaurant chain, TamJai Yunnan Mixian, or TamJai SamGor in certain areas of the world. Some people stopped patronizing them for fear of finding Abby Choi's remains in their food, which is a whole new world of ridiculousness. @@SerenityChaos1975 I am not blaming her but we also have to realise that just because we are overly nice or generous to people does not mean that our actions will be reciprocated positively. Sometimes, our behaviors can enable/nurture evil and vileness, especially if the people we are interacting with and helping have wicked hearts. That my friend is the way the world is and that is why wisdom is very important because it can save us from so much trouble. Having discernment is very essential. The world is wicked and people are willing to take and even destroy all the goodness that we have to offer whenever they get a chance, or whenever they are used to receiving so much from us. When we choose to start creating boundaries, they will feel threatened and there is no way of determining how they will behave/react. This is the world that we live in. I am not usually fond of people born into wealth, but she gives me such a caring and genuine vibe that I am tearing up just listening to this absolute horror this poor girl went through. I hope they all will rot in hell and suffer till the end of their days.

Things is, being born into wealth is out of one’s control, it really is just luck of the draw. She could’ve been born into abject poverty in a third world country just as easily as she was born into insane wealth in a first world city like HK.

Very intriguing and you said it when you said this case sucks! Those parasites are unbelievable. Feel awful for the families especially the children who lost such a beautiful and caring mother. Thanks Adrian for the coverage of this case.

Once again these children are the ultimate victims. I have the feeling that she was a doting mother. That’s quite heartbreaking.

Why are the children the ultimate victims????? Who was murdered again? Those victim-obliterating narratives make me sick. She was person way before being a mother!!

I always find comments like this so odd and off putting. The “ultimate” victim is the woman who was brutally murdered. Yes the children would are devastated, but the average person would not trade places and be the one 6 feet under. That woman had a pulse and life. People are truly so desensitized to victims that have perished, to even insinuate anyone other than her is the “ultimate” victim is beyond insane.

@@babsgalv6556 this right here! people will sympathize with the relatives before they do the victim who was brutally murdered. and in alot of cases will attempt to erase them from the equation by saying others are more victims then THE actual victim. The one whose name is in the title of this video.

For each of you linguistically challenged individuals. Try learning what the definition of ultimate is before harping such utter rubbish. ‘Ultimate - being or happening at the end of a process; final.’ Following her tragic demise, the people who loved her remain are at the end of the metaphorical rope. Left to try to survive in her absence. So yes her children and her husband are the ‘ultimate’ victims. Where do you think that statement comes from?! Geesh

As someone classified as a poverty line American, I am so so sad that another woman who was so successful with her family situated beyond want, would be disregarded. How awful to have it all in life and be snuffed out like you didn't matter. I'm so sorry for another woman my age to lose her life particularly with children, she deserved to watch them grow.

Your financial status and her financial status have zero to do with your comment though. How awful to be snuffed out like you didn't matter, period. Has nothing to do with how great her life was. Everyone has the same value which gets decided by your virtue, not your bank account.

Please, do an update on this video as Abbey wasn't born to a rich family, and it appears that hers and her in-laws were deeply involved in the money laundering business in HK, and with "some" connections to the HK Triads. I was touched as everyone else by her murder but apparently there's a deeper layer of dirt to be uncovered in this crime.
