Adrian! Please investigate the crime of "El psicópata de Pozo al Monte" he was a serial killer in the north of Chile. It was a very shocking case during the late 1990s and the media was awful to the victims families and memory (mostly young girls) almost blaming them of being murdered.

Adrian, I've been inside the 'no man's land' in Cyprus. My sister is buried in a small graveyard in Farmagusta. In order to visit her grave, I had to have diplomatic immunity and be escorted by a UN soldier. The whole experience was surreal. It was like walking onto the movie set of a war film. Very eerie and sad. Your idea of visiting and reporting on crimes of places is a great idea. Thanks for such a great channel. You're a natural storyteller. @Long John Thilver Sorry, do you expect someone to generate content like this for free. If it's just ads turned on, he's not making much per vid. When you do the research, video editing, voice work, etc- I don't think that's unreasonable compensation. When he does sponsored personalized ad reads, he'd probably gets 5-10k for 5 reads in different videos, if they are 1 minute long (if he does sponsored reads). Still seems reasonable to me.

Yes, Adrian does such a thorough job with highlighting the locations and the victims to show that they were, of course, real people with real lives and dreams and aspirations. Since I know you very much like the kind of location featuring that Adrian does, you'll also love the channel "We'll, I Never" that features an on-screen narrator named Paul. He is an older man who goes to EVERY location that he talks about a crime that happened there. He is in Britain but goes all over Europe and other areas of the world as he features cases in those locations. It's quite interesting to see him stand right where these things happened. And that channel does cases that are from the 1800's all the way to recent. It's really quote good. So Adrian and that channel are my favorites. 😃

As a Romanian I'd like to thank you for the respect you have shown for the victims. And even though I've never met her, there are a lot of things that I can appreciate about Livia. She was brave enough to work in a foreign country, she was actively looking for a better life and most Romanians feel like they will be treated well elsewhere, so I believe she was making this change with that mindset. Also, the fact that she kept her child close to her speaks volumes about her character. A lot of Romanians feel like a transition to another country, with a different language and culture might be too much for child to process, so they leave their children at home. But she wanted to see her daughter grow up in better conditions than she did.This why this story is so tragic. I really hope that all the families that lost their dear ones in this case, will have the strength and peace they need in these moments. And thank you again, Adrian, for your thoughtful coverage!

@Long John Thilver the bravery is in actually doing something to better your life. Of course everyone wants a better life, but not everybody is actively doing something about it. Leaving everything behind and moving countries takes courage, especially when you have a small child. Not sure why you feel the need to bash on someone that tried to improve their life and exposed themselves to danger in order to do so. Your sarcasm is misplaced and frankly embarrassing.
@mightaswelljustdoit9679
@mightaswelljustdoit9679 Жыл бұрын
@Long John Thilver you consider moving countries for a better life for you and your family... Not worthy of praise? Also, I am not sure what the West has to do with anything, when clearly the original commenter is Romanian, commenting on the actions of a Romanian woman. I have the feeling I am not the moron here.
@mightaswelljustdoit9679
@mightaswelljustdoit9679 Жыл бұрын
@Long John Thilver bro, I am not from the West either, maybe that's why you don't understand where I am coming from. I am an immigrant as well and I know that it takes guts to do what she did especially when there is nobody waiting for you in the other country to help you. It took courage and grit, and while I don't expect praise for it because I did it for myself like Livia, I still think that hard work and sacrrifice should be acknowledged and praised, because it is something that not many people are willing to do, even for their faimilies. And doing stuff for your family is normal and should be expected, but is not common for people to go above and beyond. A lot of parents and family members are sub-par and do not even do the bare minimum. So when someone puts extra effort into bettering their situation, I think it's good to recognise that and encourage it, so other people might follow the example. And I am not sure why you feel so adamant of the fact that this person praised someone. Praising right behaviours will only enforce that behaviour and appreciation shouldn't only be given when you do something extraordinary. The commenter didn't say she deserves the Mother of the Year award, they just simply acknowledged her efforts especially because they know from where she was coming from.
@mightaswelljustdoit9679
@mightaswelljustdoit9679 Жыл бұрын
@Long John Thilver You just made a bunch of assumptions to fit your narrative. You don't know if she took a plane, usually people that emigrate for work have by default little money, which means that they use other means of transportation that takes days and is more unconfortable than a plane. Even though I don't know how this would lessen her efforts, but if you brought it up, fine. Also, your second point makes no sense, because her body was discovered only because of another investigation, meaning nobody in Cyprus actually gave a damn about her or her daughter. And on the part that men can take more adversities easier than women, in this case it is not true, because I didn't hear of any father stepping up and taking care of Livia or the daughter, so they wouldn't have to go to another country for a better life. From where I stand, you are the pussified Westerner that has never dealt with adversities in their life and thinks everybody can go by plane, or has it easy only because it's not 5 centuries ago. Otherwise you would recognise what this woman did.

I thought that lake was familiar. There’s a KZbin channel called Scary Interesting that covered this story from a different perspective. A while before the bodies in the lake were found, a traveller blogger took an innocent photo on the shore with something visible in the water behind her. Nobody knew what it was at the time, but after his confession and the retrieval she realised it was one of the suitcases.

I'm half Greek, half Cypriot and unfortunately mum's never wanted to go back so I haven't met any relatives on my yiayia's side. She was visiting with her mum and dad in the 70s as a young child and when the invasion happened she was lucky to get out alive on the last flight out before the attack on the airport.

I know heartless people are all around us, it can be anyone, a spouse , an uncle , an aunt, a neighbour etc. but still , I’ve learned from this channel just how scary dating sites are , and it’s no wonder I’ve always been mortified about getting on dating sites. I really just don’t see any safety there. There’s all the risks I can imagine, scammers , rapists , killers, fake profiles , imposters etc.

Yes, as a US citizen who lived in places insulated from big city violence, there are nevertheless 5 murders that are fairly close to me --a first cousin's step daughter, a young colleague who I worked next to daily, a next door neighbors son, and a very close friends in-laws. None of these happened where I lived but I don't know if Americans are more apt to have been touched by murder. All of the perpetrators were youngish men... Two of these had to do with dating but I'm totally uncomfortable with dating sites. Even using sites like air bnb or trustedhousesitters, I at least make sure there are affirmative reviews. I even make sure taxi drivers are going to the destination by following along with gps and I carry pepper spray. I travel a whole bunch solo and take precautions.

@@janefreeman995 I have read that proportionally we in the UK have a quarter of the killings the USA does. I know it's not always the case but I think having guns is a bad idea. If they are not there the moment of anger has time to pass. Also people don't kill as easily if they r going to have to fight the victim physically themselves.
@Wheres_my_Dragonator
@Wheres_my_Dragonator Жыл бұрын
@@deniseelsworth7816 Most of these sensationalized crimes are done without a gun though. If anything, the reason violence in the US are more apparent is because not everyone has guns to protect themselves. You generally don't hear of guntoting nuts getting attacked, most likely because they are seen as too much of a hassle to attack.

I don't know if Adrian could find a way to use this information for his specific work, but he's a very clever guy, he probably already thought about this.... and with 1,6 million subscribers he must be considered an influencer in his field.

There was a YT couple who done traveling content who visited that same lake because of it’s color to make a video on it. In that same footage, you can see the woman is about 10-20 feet away from one of the suitcases jutting out of the water which contained the remains of one of the victims. Mind you, it was before this guy was caught and the lake being searched. They said in the video that the lake itself smelled like death.
