Hey folks! You can find a link to Kevin and Makana’s gofundme below. As you can likely imagine, Makana is going through a tremendously difficult situation as a child. With Stephen’s trial now complete but Hailey’s trial set to happen later this year, she will have to relive and reprocess all the previous events while she stands for her mother and father. The campaign is set to help the demanding costs required for therapy and private schooling. No pressure, but if you’d like to support her and her father, please visit the campaign here: gofund.me/3fcbf32c 🐚

Yeah that video split my heart in two. The absolute raw pain in his voice is gut wrenching. I know what it feels like for someone you love to be senselessly, needlessly murdered. I know that scream, that cry. Just pure grief. I wish him, and his brother the husband, and the poor daughter who was tormented and tied up by the killers- I wish for healing and peace to touch all three of them, and everyone else who loved Telma and was affected by her murder.

Reminds me of me when my niece got raped I found out who done it since she couldn't tell me her self went to the families home kicked the door down with his mother under it walked straight In went to the disgusting cunts bedroom kicked that door down jumped straight over his bed smashed in his face threw him through his own sliding door window and I aggressively threw him straight off his 2 story balcony in to the garden and cops turned up just as I was ready to leave got out of my truck and attacked the police officer and Broke his jaw and got arrested on the spot the amount of damage I have done was like aye pitbull attack arrested for lawful damage to property, bodily harm to two males, accidentally injuring aye female and trespassing on private property but I was released on the same day by my uncle as he was a police officer and knew how pissed I was so instead I got aye 3000 dollar fine and 6 months on aye bracelet I don't regret what I did but I regret hurting the mother in the process which I did apologize and my niece was not happy with me at the time but where ok now 🤦💪👊

Its wild seeing this on your channel. I was down there in mililani when these two were arrested. The entire island's social media was actually blowing up with people out to find them, and I remember seeing all of the information going around on facebook and instagram. I ended up going out and was confused when I heard a group of angry people shouting "THATS HIM" and "GET HIM" and stuff like that, the size of the crowd was huge and I couldnt even see them on the floor being arrested. To say their town banded together is an understatement and it almost felt like the whole island was out on a hunt for them.

I remember when this happened and it was almost hard to believe because things like that just don’t happen on North Shore. It was absolutely horrific and tragic. I was very sad for Kevin and his family. They were my favorite shell hunting and treasure hunting adventurer people out there and always nice to me, so for this to happen to any good, nice soul made my heart break. I spent a lot of my time beach combing Keiki Beach while living on NS for a few shorts years on/off. The crime was something rare and unfortunate to really rattle that town. So much drugs and drifters on Oahu. It’s a beautiful place but it has its harsh realities there for sure, especially just trying to afford to live a life there which leads to so much burglaries. The timing of it happening so close to Christmas made it even more of a tragedy. It was really like something that could only have happened in a horror film. It was mostly hard to believe because he (as well as Telma) was someone everyone in that town all knew personally and for it to happen to someone you actually know just feels so violating and hard to grasp. I know Kevin is a very positive person that was able to move forward with the grace of God and find forgiveness in some sort of way.

It’s like every single step was pointlessly cruel. They could have run from the house instead of killing telma, they could’ve just left after they killed her and not further traumatized her daughter, but they chose to tell her they’d killed her mother and then take her inside and tie her up. Shit, they might’ve even avoided being caught if they’d not let the daughter see them and just left. Also would be wise to not write your name with her blood at the scene of the crime?

Because some people feel so low and horrible about themselves that hurting someone else can be a way to feel better about themselves (at least I’m not dead etc.) it’s super sick and most people can clearly see or count their blessings because no matter how bad we may feel, there are people feeling worse and who are in much worse shape than you. It’s the people who attack to get this feeling who are super dangerous but that’s the only reason I know someone would find joy in something so cruel.

For anyone wondering how the father could forgive the killers. Its something you learn in therapy, I strongly suspect he didnt do it for them, he did it for himself to not give them any more energy with hateing them.
@jazflanagan8693
@jazflanagan8693 Жыл бұрын
EXACTLY! Hating someone takes so damn much energy, and causes so much pain, that it's not sustainable. I think more people need to understand that forgiveness really is never for the person that caused the pain; it's for the people that endured it. Forgiveness tends to be the only way many people can start to truly heal and let go. Those that inflict so much pain do not deserve the precious energy it takes to keep tending that weed of hate.

As someone from Hawaii, THANK YOU for showcasing this. We really don’t see many cases from Hawaii being shared. This one was a huge hit to the community and the fact it’s still an ongoing court case is horrible. May those two who took a life never get to live theirs comfortably. If you have time, please look up Peter Boy Kema and possibly cover his story in a video. He’s been missing in Hawaii since 1997 and to this day has never been found. Only in recent years were his parents FINALLY convicted of his murder after it was proven they abused him for years, but Peter Boy’s body has never been recovered and likely never will as the parents claim they dumped him in the ocean all those years ago. The mother died in 2019 and the father is currently serving a 20 year (yep, 20) sentence. Very tragic story but Peter Boy deserves his story to be told.

These days, with the internet, if you follow murder cases you see so much severe mental illness out there. If I have a small argument with someone at work, I'm a mess for a week about it. these people have some element missing from their brain that allows them to not feel empathy. It's very scary.

Then why do you watch these? And why are they on here? Because it's not the NORM, it's the EXCEPTION. It would be PRETTY BORING watching an average day in a family of normal people. It sounds like you have Depression. I have had it on and off for 40 years and it's the assumption I would have made during one of my bouts. If you need help, get it. God bless

Around the 18 minute mark you express befuddlement over why these 2 were proud but I think you answered that throughout the video. They were nobodies before this. Nobody could even remember who either one was outside of foggy recollections. But in committing this heinous crime, there was news coverage and podcasts discussing them and their actions. I’m willing to bet in their minds, whether consciously or not, they felt they mattered now. And this is the sickness of the world today

UPDATE: A judge handed down life sentences to both Stephen Brown and Hailey Dandurand in December 2023. Brown was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole for Boinville’s murder. He was also sentenced to 20 years for kidnapping a child and an extended sentence of 20 years for burglary. Judge Rowena Somerville ruled terms will be served back to back - not concurrently. Dandurand was sentenced to two life sentences with the possibility of parole - one for murder and the second for the kidnapping of a child. Dandurand also received a 20-year extended sentence for burglary. Underscoring the gravity of the crimes, Somerville also ruled Dandurand’s life sentences should be served consecutively to be followed by the burglary sentence. Additionally, Dandurand got one year for using Emery’s truck as a getaway vehicle and a 10-year extended sentence for unauthorized possession of confidential personal information. Those two sentences will be served concurrently.

This story kind of scared me a bit because when I visited Hawaii I stayed on the North shore and loved it, I just hitchhiked my way around. I enjoy the surf and the cliff divers that were doing incredible stunts. I also enjoyed the dance, the music, the singing and the fact that the islanders were so very generous with sharing their heritage to us tourists.

Hi, I hate to assume but I’m guessing English isn’t your first language and if that’s the case I would like to make a little note He’s means he is as in “he is cool” what you meant to use is his “his lover” and “his wife” Other than that, your English is pretty good other than some punctuation errors which is common with native English speakers
