Maybe not anymore, or maybe it's just some Catholics schools. But my mom always told me stories about the Catholic school she had to go to and how much the nuns would beat her up in class over the most smallest of reasons. When she got into high school, she didn't understand basic science because the nuns were just pulling random stuff ouy from the Bible to teach things, and so she got made fun of by her peers and science teacher.

Just a heads up... Most Amish stands at local markets are 100% NOT selling anything they grew. Some do... yes. But for the most part the Amish purchase wholesale from distributors and simply repackage items to make it appear "home grown". I should know... as I am a distributor and on the weekends most of my vendors are Amish. Still good products btw... but that is a popular misconception that I wanted to make yall aware of.

I lived in an amish community, on an amish run farm...and you dont know what you are talking about. Everything was a result of their personal labor. The men, women, and kids all have duties to contribute. Real amish still barely use tech and prefer to do most things by hand. They drive, have tractors and electricity, dont misread what I am saying. I watched them move an entire barn with just a community of people lifting it up by hand and walking it to its new location. Tech could have helped. But that is not how they work. I believe a big meal was all it took to get 50-100 people there ready and willing to literally pick up and move a barn by hand and foot. Also...amish people are the kindest people I have ever lived around. I would move back there in a heart beat. They welcomed me when most communitied do not. And didnt impose anything but kindness. When my bike was stolen, my amish neighbours, without hesitstion, loaned me a $1200 Trek farm bike...and I barely knew them. Said pick wbatever bike you want...I picked the most inexpensive one they had...they laughed and said, no, take this one, and insisted. They often fed me, were always polite and pleasent. And I never heard a single word about their religion.
