Karin, I love your videos, you have a lot going on in your life, occasionally there is a shorter one. You are to the point, and don’t waffle on about nothing. Please don’t stop doing what you’re doing.

Thanks for the video! I have been getting info on the inkey list to define a routine for myself, and I decided to use this moisturizer to take care of my either dehydrated or dry skin. Since I'm not sure yet what my skin type is, my goal is to use gentle and light products that won't mask my skin natural tendencies, so I can make a diagnose. So, I agree with what you said here 0:39 :) I'll be complementing it with hyaloronic acid when and where it is needed.

I have found a sodium ascorbyl phosphate (SAP) serum an excellent way to get some vitamin C on my oily rosacea skin since l-ascorbic vitamin C stings me painfully for a good 5 minutes after applied. SAP is a form of vitamin C that’s said to be good at controlling acne - I don’t have acne but I have been using a SAP vitamin C for about 4 years and very rarely get rosacea welts any more - and if I get normal (hormonal) spots they don’t scar now. Plus a raised keloid scar I’ve had on my face since 18 (am now 50) faded away at about the 3 year mark of using SAP daily. I use a 23% SAP serum. Really enjoyed this video Karen, I like a mix of short and long videos.

Isn't 23% SAP overkill? All studies done used 5% and most products tend to stop at 10% concentrations.

SilverKeith, I picked it because it was a cruelty free serum, the percentage was secondary to me. I did experience skin brightening quite quickly, which was one of the marketing claims for the high percentage strength, but at the time I was just seeking a vitamin C to replace an expensive one I used to buy that was doing very little. I carried on with the SAP due to the fact my skin stopped scarring - I started using it at a time when I had lots of welts and they healed within 4 days. That encouraged me to keep using it and when the scar eventually faded I was happy because it was raised and hard to cover. People need to pick what is right for them - I just wanted to share my own experience because whilst Karen rightly points out derivatives are weaker than l-ascorbic they can work well for some people.

Might I ask what is the name and brand of the product? Been looking for a relatively high percentage SAP.

Coconut oil 😢 i cried a little bit inside after i made payments online and only then read the full ingredients

It already has coconut oil in it and for that people with oily skins get minor breakouts using this product as coconut oil clogs the pores. I think people with oily skin shouldn't go for this product.

I just received this and I'm also about to try Pixi's glow tonic which has 5% glycolic acid..I've read that I shouldn't mix Glycolic and Vitamin C. 1. Do you think that because this moisturiser isn't potent I could use them both (as in layer them)? The packaging for this moisturiser also says: Clean>Hydrate>Treat (toner etc)>Moisturise..I would've though toner goes before Hyaluronic Acid. 2. 2. What are your thoughts on this? What order would you recommend?
@TheBeautyMaverick

Yes, I think you could mix this Inkey list with glycolic acid because its not true Vitamin C but a derivative at low level. I agree, toner after cleanse, then hydrate. x

Is this good for fading out acne marks??? And oily skin?
@TheBeautyMaverick
@TheBeautyMaverick 3 жыл бұрын
Nope, not something I'd recommend as it isn't a concentrated active. You'd be better with Tretinoin and/or Ascorbic Acid. x

I find the claims for the B, C and E vitamins quite exaggerated. Everything is below the 1% line.
