Ahsoka at her best is pretty much the same level as Obi Wan at his best, both were able to defeat Maul, Obi Wan also beat Grevious and Ahsoka held her own against him too. Ahsoka disrespected the fuck out of all the Inquisitors who most of the time she was just playing with rather than actually fighting. Both Obi Wan and Ahsoka also got the better off Darth Vader too although Vader was distracted when Ahsoka slashed his mask. Ahsoka however has something that few people actually have and that is the will to always survive thanks to Anakin teaching her to survive and his unwillingness to lose her during the Clone Wars he taught her to fight and defend above and beyond the Jedi standard and his teaching ensured that she survived order 66. But she also survived and saved many during the Clone Wars thanks to his teachings, she survived the Droid foundry collapse on Genosis thanks to his teachings, she survived being kidnapped by the Trandoshan kidnappers who used her and others to hunt for sport and she brought them all down. She also survived on the ship where that mind control parasite broke loose and turned almost the entire crew and Baris against her.

The Inquisitors were initially a random throwaway line in an obscure book, which pretty much only stated that Inquisitors existed during the Empire's early days to wipe out the Jedi remnants then just disappeared once the job was done. Apparently the real context was that they got bodied by said jedi in the process but took out enough before they died to not have been considered total failures.

@mapping shaman in fallen order, she lost to him ONCE at the end, well after healing his connection. He had already pretty much been on his way to becoming a knight before order 66 as far as I know (please correct me if I'm wrong) and he did have to gain plenty of experience to get that far anyways. Constantly apply pressure to someone and they'll either break or bend. Cal didn't break and grew from his experiences, beating a fallen jedi after fighting hundreds of enemies (it sure fucking felt like it with me) since fighting the ninth sister, an admittedly weaker version of the second sister, who herself had only been a padawan before getting corrupted. Take that all into account, alongside the fact that the inquisitors weren't MEANT to be some super high tier threat like vader or dooku or maul, of course Cal beat her. The encounter on bogano wasn't a win either. She, at any time, could have killed him the moment he grabbed her saber. He was so overwhelmed, he was an easy target. He made a rookie mistake in thinking he needed to grab her weapon. If it weren't for Cere, Trilla would have won. She saw her chance to get the holocron and leave. Why work harder when she could work smarter?

I gotta say they were actually more or less competent in Fallen Order. Second Sister whooped Cal's ass twice before he finally defeated her on Bogano. Ninth Sister didn't get any Ws, but still, she has some nice force abilities, didn't give up the advantage of having a ship and tried to use it to kill Cal first, sustained multiple injuries and still kept on fighting. I can respect that.

While I do agree cal was in trouble during all of the inquisitor fights, I wouldn't describe them as more or less competent when one padawan who never finished his training, a noncombatant pilot, a nightsister, and a retired jedi can easily beat them. Like they were hunting cal for days at best, weeks at worst, and he was 2-0 by the end of it.

Well the inquisitor saber is actually more inefficient compared to a regular double blade maul was able to take on two Jedi at once plus defensively it’s pretty good only major flaw is the long hilt even then some of the double blades can retract into the length of a single blade and probably was designed to work even if one half was cut off

It's why he had Dooku abandon Ventress in Season 3 of the Clone Wars. Sidious wants to be the last of the Sith, with Vader only being his tool used to secure his ascendancy. The Inquisitors would've been a threat if they were actually able to defeat higher-skilled Jedi.

To be honest the design of their lightsabers while looking cool it's actually pretty dumb, first the "guard" on the weapon, in 1 bladed form, I mean its not necessarely bad but being normal metal and not lightsaber resistant metal...its..kinda useless, the second bladed mode is just stupid,it limits their movements being unable to grab in multiple ways the handle (which is fundamental in a high risk sistuation) and when they spin the blades to either deflects blaster bolts or other lightsabers they non move it and just keep the hole where their hand is located IN FRONT OF THEIR ABDOMEN, that is just the most stupid thing they could and usually do. Also using then to fly away like a slow ass elycopter just makes them an easy target. I think that either they gave them a standard double bladed lightsaber (or like Cal Kestis where two lightsabers can combine and become 1 double bladed one) and a jetpack they would have actually been able to do better against the jedi, while maybe not killing them anyway, but at least making them look somewhat competent

@@jaypeadieL611 You're actually quite on the mark, the whole spinning lightsaber gimmick is to make up for the Inquisitor's lack of skill and to intimidate weaker Jedi, like Ezra and Cal when they were younger. (once those two grew up they became pretty strong, Cal especially.) Yeah sure people will clown on the Lightsaber all they want, but if someone was waving what's basically a giant spinning rotor blade that is made of lazers at you you'd be pretty scared. (unless you're an actually competent Jedi that is.)

@@GeneralTaco155555aI think it makes sense in context - the Inquisitors are really just meant to take care of fodder - they had enough skill to hold their own, and the spinning blades just allow them to disorientate people around that level of experience. Sort of like how General grievous’ “I’ll try spinning, that’s a neat trick” would be a meat grinder to most people not called “Obi-Wan Kenobi”. If Jedi skilled enough to come out on top were found, Vader himself would show up. I highly doubt either Vader or Palpatine would actually WANT the Inquisitors to be too much of a threat anyway. He doesn’t need a bunch of rival Sith apprentices running around again, he just needs a task force capable of dealing with all the leftovers from the order that’s already in tatters. … Also… It’s a kid’s show - I know, I know, that doesn’t necessarily excuse dumb writing, but… It’s just spinning blades, it’s not exactly the height of absurdity for Star Wars. (Although FLYING with them was certainly a little bit over the top lol)

The only one with actual skill was the grand inquisitor who was a temple guard. In the lore those guys killed hundreds of clones but they had fewer numbers because the grand inquisitor betrayed them before the temple massacre.Possibly with poison or a surprise attack

Well Darth Vader never intended for them to be successful jedi killers. They were mainly tasked for things beneath him like finding weaker jedi and force sensitive children so they couldn't become jedi. To be fair, he was an absolute CLOWN. He got buried under a pile of rubble by one Jedi survivor he just called "weak" minutes before, and he got his saber broken by a rusty Padawan who left before the Clone Wars. The second one Kanaan, as he said “I have nothing left to fear” had nothing left to fear, so essentially he was more powerful. A bit harder to explain that one but its pretty fair to say Kanaan gained the strength needed to beat him. And the second one was ANOTHER Padawan who broke his saber before Kanan did, called Naq Med. So barring Jocasta Nu, he got beaten by THREE washed out Padawans (Kira, Naq and Kanan), got stabbed in the gut by Reva, and Luke in Disney canon is pathetically nerfed. the problem is that the stormtroopers and the Inquisitors are incompetent by design and i don't mean for story reason but in universe. The first are designed to scare people into submission, to look intimidating and to be fiercely loyal to the Emperor but not to be competent soldiers as competent soldiers lead by charismatic leader can become a problem for the Emperor. They are good at the role intented for them...occupation troops; sure there are elite group and frankly the 501th Legion is very competent but honestly it's the only one and more because it's the personal fiefdom of the emo kid with breath issue and anger management problem and we all know how he dislike incompetence. The Inquisitors are also trained this way intentionally as neither Palpy and Vader want real direct competition expecially by someone that know the sith way...so the inquisitors are more attack dog with limited (dakr side) force and combat training efficient against non force users and padawan but as Ashoka showed totally outclassed by a real Jedi. Look at how Ezra and Kanan become better at fighting them while the season progress...the initial were cumberstomp battle won only by luck and wits but by keep training the jedi padawan duo become better while the inquisitors not, worse it become clear that they can't reall work well together unlike the jedi. In Andor is different as the main characters are basically civilians with no training and weapon...this is the reason the stormtroopers are so scary.

Seventh Sister was both smart and a great fighter, utilizing technology and being able to keep up with Asoka Tano(who isn't a full Jedi but still has more battle experience than most Jedi ever get). The eighth brother also had a lot of cool technology but mostly wasted all of it in his one and only appearance. Aaaand the fifth brother never really did jack shit in rebels honestly. Maul wasnt intended by Sidious to be his successor, nor was Dooku. Maul was considered to be weapon (even his name, darth maul reflects that. A Maul is considered a dangerous and effective, yet unsoffisticated, weapon). In terms of fighting skill, Maul absolutely rivals a proper Sith lord, because fighting is all he was really trained to do, and do well. Watching rebels is a reminder of how much easier everything would be for everyone if heroes and villains simply went for killing blows. She could have slid down the pyramid to escape and slowed her much more manageable descent with the force near the bottom, or potentially use what juice was left in her saber to pierce the wall and cause enough friction to slow her descent instead. She could have even surrendered. But no. Just...jump and hope for the best I guess-

The fifth brother always was being usless running away letting the other 1 or 2 inquisitors fight the jedi while he watchs or sometimes he decides to be usefull and fight back he repeats this in almost every lightsaber duel honestly I didn't care when he died where as the other 2 inquisitors the 8th brother and the 7th sister tried there best to fight off the jedi and would retreat when they needed to

Considering, that most of the Inquisitors were Padawan of the Order and the most enemies they had to "fight" were non-force users *and* they've been brought to the idea that the dark side makes them more powerful than anyone else, while not having their training continued, them being cocky and unskilled kinda fits the full theme and is actually quite coherent. And it obviously makes them look dumb as soon as they face someone with equal or higher skills. And yes, I consider them on the skill level of Ezra, only being juiced up by the dark side.
