I’m calling this guy today. Hopefully he still works for NPRS? Thank you for blessing us with this amazing information

And what IF you sell your pool route and the new buyer isn't willing to do the work properly. I lose because they do poor work after the transition period??? Not fair! Ive been at it 30 years and I see that customers get use to a proper kind of service for their pool. I can teach it. They might do it better. But ultimately its the new buyer's responsibility.

Hello! I am a school teacher. Is this something that I can do after school hours in the afternoon and on Saturdays? Say about 30 accounts?

It depends on your tolerance for the elements. Realistically, we make it through sweltering days by starting early in the morning. As you work, it gradually gets hotter. If you can leave work and enter a hot or cold day, then you can do this. You might also have issues with a pool with a problem, and the customer needs you there, but your time is limited working two jobs. Twenty accounts would be very doable.

Do I need to have pool cleaning /maintenance experience to buy a route? will the training be enough to make the customers happy with their pools?
@SPL2 жыл бұрын
Training for 2-3 weeks will help but there is so much to learn really. If the seller can give you a full month with you maybe paying him that would be best.

Hi! I have a few questions. How does a pool service business make money in the winter months? Do the accounts pay monthly or yearly?
@SPL2 жыл бұрын
In the West Coast and parts of the East Coast we do year round service. The areas that don't charge more during the season and find other money making professions in the off season like plumbing or snow plowing.

How many pools do you think you’d need to be able to have a handful of techs working for you and still have a fairly profitable business?
@SPL2 жыл бұрын
Each tech doing 70-80 pools would be profitable at the right service rate.

Hi David, thanks for the video. Very informative.i have been thinking about a pool route for a while now. i am nearing retirement age and I am looking for a business that will supplement my retirement income.

This is the perfect business for you. Lots of retired folks in my group. One a police officer, another a MFT, an Electronic Store owner- etc. 👍

@@SPL Hi David thanks for the reply. I listened to your podcast episode titled "the end game" after I sent you the message, and you were talking about how your body wears out when you get older. It sounded like this was a young mans game, so I was expecting a different response. Thanks again for all the great information!

@@rubenalvarado377 Yes that is true but I don't think you will be doing 70-80 pools and a lot of equipment installs if it is just a job to keep you busy and make some extra cash. That I wouldn't recommend.

David, thats good to know and thanks again for the information. If I do move forward on this , I will definitely get into your coaching program. Keep up the good work! @@SPL

@27:30 "Pool routes are recession proof'? The first people to go are the landscapers and the pool guy.. Especially 2008.. When the banks owned all those empty homes, they were not hiring pool guys and they were destroying pools. Had no problem with him, but that's just naked dishonesty, or hes that out of touch with reality. SMH

I meant if you had high value customers in whom the Recession didn't affect too much. Recession affected a lot of lower income areas there were plenty of areas that indeed was not affected.

I would think a commercial route like gyms, rec centers and hotels would be recession proof. Its a health and safety service.
