@johndavies5582 tbh I blame Cody Rhodes because he was the one who turned it into a war right from the get-go when AEW was establishing itself as an alternative to WWE. He had all those skits on BTE taking shots at WWE (specifically HHH) and continued to keep the heat going when he destroyed the throne and made it sound like it would be "cool" to recreate the Monday Night Wars. He even got TK and others in the company to go along with it. Made it personal for a lot of people in AEW, which in turn made it personal for WWE, especially when VKM watched AEW destroy NXT during the Wednesday Night War, only to blame HHH and HBK for the defeat. It's been downhill from there ever since 😕🙄🤦🤷 but that didn't stop WWE from welcoming Cody Rhodes back like nothing had ever happened and now they too shit all over AEW because they've been led to believe that it's "cool"...and now tribalism is a toxicity that we all have to suffer with smfh 🤔🧐 hmm funny how that works

What's really awesome is that the midcard is so strong with so many different champions that can main event TV, it just makes the World title picture feel all that much bigger and legitimate when it isn't being defended every week while still being the top story with contenders vying for it every week, much like Toni Storm's title picture. They are really starting to build matches again rather than chase TV ratings - the audience is already there, it's time to keep them interested rather than constantly trying to grab new ones from other places. Love this new/old direction!

That is definitely a good way to do this I’d think the only thing I’d add is maybe have Joe get a protege or something to have tag matches with or something My thinking being similar to the likes of how older style Japan champions where in say early Noah or older AJPW and NJPW were where the world champion was involved with a faction or something so they could be involved in multi man tag matches to style be active but keep their main championship matches stretched out so more focus could be on the tag and midcard during tv while PPVs got the big champion matches Prime example was Kenta Kobashi’s legendary reign as GHC Champion in Noah where he also during it held tag gold for a time

All of the others mainstream wrestling channels are either a) very clickbaity, b) intentionally disingenuous about AEW as a company or c) WWE marks. Tranquilo Club has a solid presentation with passion and content that gets everyone excited rather than fighting. It's actually quite refreshing. All of the other channels can kick rocks as far as I'm concerned. This muchacho knows what everyone wants to hear about and talk about. If that happens to be mostly AEW content, then all I've got to say is, please keep it coming! Oralé, vato!

The next five first time world champions imo: 1. Swerve - no words needed 2. Ospreay - wins it off Swerve at All In in a perfect moment 3. Starks - let him cook 4. White - still feels like he should've won at Full Gear 5. Okada - the poetry is immaculate if he wins it off White

Other contenders to consider, in no particular order: 1. Adam Cole - TK probably still has plans for him as the Devil as well as a future rivalry with MJF once they both are back from injury 2. Rush - No words needed here either, as with Swerve Strickland, but I will say that he's been built up as a credible contender, and if it weren't for VISA issues he probably would be holding gold by now 3. Bryan Danielson - He deserves to be champ at least once before he retires, if only to add prestige to the world title and go out in a huge way 4. Ethan Page - Gotta believe that something was cooking when he went over Kenny Omega before the diverticulitis happened smh 5. Jay Lethal - It's damn near criminal that he isn't being mentioned in the same conversation as the other GOATS in AEW because he's been amazing everywhere he's been prior to AEW 6. Malakai Black - It's way past time that he held singles gold, which may have happened sooner had Cody Rhodes not buried his momentum before he ultimately left for WWE 7. Pac - It looked like there were plans for him prior to his injury, but then VISA issues got in the way

2024 should be the year of Heel Hangman Page. He is perfect as the bitter ex-world champion who keeps getting overlooked. By Swerve, a debuting Will Ospreay, possibly Okada, heck maybe even Hook. But most importantly, Samoa Joe who tells it like it is and would literally tell Page to stop whining like a little...you know what. Page can remain a face and there's no issue. Or he can go heel for 1-year and inject life into his character

Swerve is winning that title before 2025. He’s over with the AEW crowd both onstage and backstage. How long he should be the champ? That’s a tough question for me to answer because I want Swerve to have a decent run, but what I want more out of it is the feuds/rivalry as champ. Who will be Swerve’s first rival after he raises the belt over his head? With that out of the way, here’s hoping AEW can rebuild themselves in 2024 and leave all the bad luck they had in 2023 in the past.

Its why people were CRYING out for an alternative, and so ready to hop aboard the AEW train to begin with. Now all of a sudden WWE has had 1-2 good years, and everyone's jumped right back onto that bandwagon and are now clowning on AEW? Come on now. I think the only thing that’s left on AEW’s side is the fans acceptance of the new era. Everyone hangs onto the past years whether ‘21 or ‘23 to describe key distinct points of AEW when it’s better to remember them fondly (or for what they were) and focus more on the current landscape and the positives that’s happening. There seems to consistently be those that hang onto the negatives when also addressing the positives instead of speaking on the positive solely. Liked this video a lot. I may not always agree with ya opinions on AEW but most of the time I lean in the positives. Nice work!

If AEW can book the World Title the way that NJPW booked their world title, they will have a whole main event card of bosses. At one point, you had Okada as champ, and then you had Kota, Naito, Ibushi, Jay, even the Ace, and they made everyone look like a threat, even if Okada was god tier. I have confidence that AEW can pull this off. Don’t let this stacked roster go to waste!

I think with Ospreay & Okada coming in, TK needs to establish and build a World Title/main event scene for Collision & do a brand split. MJF, Darby, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Miro, Takeshita, Daniel Garcia, Ricky Starks, Rush & Bandido would be a great top 10 contenders for Collision. Swerve, Ospreay, Okada, Jay White, Samoa Joe, Shibata, Hangman, Adam Cole, Wardlow & Christian Cage as the top 10 for Dynamite. Orange Cassidy, Ethan Page, Eddie Kingston, Pac, Bryan Danielson, Wheeler Yuta, Hook, Brian Cage, Brody King & Jay Lethal for as ROH's top 10 contenders. Bookings would be sooo much more efficient & everyone would be utilized properly.

Easier said than done, I'd reckon, since injuries and real life issues have plagued the AEW roster since their first year as a new promotion. TK has a team to help him, which a lot of people don't even realize, but there's only so much that they can do. Tbh they need to decide on a format for their business model and pull the trigger. Make more regular announcements rather than "big surprise announcements" and get themselves out there with people talking about them. They're on the right path though imo! AEW is on 🔥 and this year looks to be their turning point 👏 👏 👏

@@empower5228 I partially agree with what you said, but even with the injuries and real life issues, they still would be okay because of how deep their roster is. You can even put some of the midcard guys like Powerhobbs Hobbs, Shane Taylor, AR Fox, Sammy Guevara, Keith Lee, Nick Wayne and Bryan Keith in the world title scene and they'd still be okay. Personally Hobbs and Shane T are two guys you can immediately put in the world title picture and they'd flourish. AEW has soooo much talent and injuries and real life issues wouldn't affect that company negatively one bit.

@cesarcanete3402 I wish this was the case but this is also one of the main grievances haters have with TK and his booking, since he's had to stop/start storylines because of injuries or real life stuff, and swapping in talents that some fans either don't really know or are not interested in. Me, personally? I'm not part of that group of haters. I enjoy diversity and I appreciate how TK rolls with the punches to give us fans great matches. I'm sure it's beyond frustrating for him and creative to have to deviate from their plans, but it's part of the business. Just wish more people understood that and gave him a fn break smh

Listen. Picking up Okada and Ospreay in most cases is the equivalent of a blockbuster dual signing in the world of pro wrestling. I’m just so incredibly exhausted at Tony Khan’s booking. They still have so much talent on roster but I feel like Tony either wastes his stars or just does ADHD/short attention span booking. 2024 if you look at the roster post Okada, Ospreay and probably Mercedes Mone should be a return to form of a couple of years ago for AEW but even with signing a tremendous amount of Star power it all comes down to how Tony Khan makes use of it and like I just don’t have the highest level of confidence in his running these shows. They could sign The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin tomorrow and it wouldn’t even matter. The talent and ability yo go sign stars isn’t the issue. But I’d like to stay cautiously optimistic. As a fan I want to see AEW get back to its best work across the board again.
@RedShogun13
@RedShogun13 4 ай бұрын
@@doubletime9098 You’re a dumbass. You don’t think Okada and Ospreay are two world class pickups for any company? They’re international stars so it goes without saying more people know who they are international than in west. The casual WWE fan who goes to Monday Night Raw with their mom or is dragged along by their boyfriend might not know Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay. But the wrestling fan. The hardcore wrestling fan knows exactly who the Rainmaker and the Aerial Assassin are. I mean you probably know who they are. I know who they are and most of the people commenting know exactly who tf they are. If Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada can come out and get pops on a Dynamite to a western crowd it’s a good indicator that there at least some fans that are very familiar with wrestling outside of the WWE let alone the west. Wrestling has become a global economy with the advent of the internet and a plethora of ways to consume product over the years. I mean what exactly is your opinion on wrestling outside of the WWE in 2024? Are you one of those Cornette guys that just thinks pro wrestling and wrestlers only exist in the ‘E? My point is this. Okada is one of best wrestlers on the planet on sheer ability and talent. He’s a star. Just to the casual American/western fan. Ospreay is easily sitting at a similar table as imo he’s the second coming of Kenny Omega if the wrestling gods gave him (and I mean this respectfully) less intelligence/creativity but dumped even more freakish athleticism into him. Both guys are relatively young. If you’re the booker and you book them thoughtfully (like you don’t book how old people fuck and are halfway competent) it’s hard to fuck this up. Even if you hypothetically had a venue FULL of fans seeing those two guys for the first time they’re guys that easily have the talent to win over new fans. But. If you relegate Okada to wrestling Nick Wayne and his mom on Saturday nights or book Ospreay in a mini feud with Orange fucking Julius (not a fan if you can tell) for 2 weeks then send him on vacation for like a month all of a sudden you’ve poured water on heat. And it happens all the time in AEW with these guys that come in from WHEREVER and may be big stars (former WWE guys, NJPW guys, whoever). They come in hot and then you just watch their Star absolutely fucking get killed in comparison to what they were/how they were presented prior. It’s happened with almost every big signing. People know Okada and Ospreay. Maybe not the casual wrestling fan (in which case if Okada comes in and is able to be Okada and Ospreay is able to be Ospreay they have the opportunity to show the western casuals why/how they’ve been tearing it up internationally for years) but everyone else.

I only disagree in one thing, when you said that "ALL the best in ring wrestlers in the world are in AEW". I think there are great wrestlers outside AEW, even in WWE, so, even if AEW has the best roster, I can't agree that ALL the best are there. I would love to see Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Tomasso and Johnny Gargano DIY, Drew McIntyre, Walter, Ricochet, Pete Dunne, and AJ Styles for example, wrestling in AEW, where they could give their best performances, since WWE doesn't let them. And also, I would love to see the return of Cody Rhodes to AEW one day. Randy Orton would be fun to watch outside of WWE. And Andrade, that was a big miss, he is one of my favourites in ring. You didn't mentioned Malakai Black, I think he is under used. There are a few like him with so mutch potential in AEW.

Personally, I wouldn’t book a Swerve vs Ospreay at Wembley this year. One, because then you have no option but to make Ospreay win and skip ahead of many guys who have been in the company for a while now waiting patiently for their moment. And two, because I don’t think it’s necessary to do so this year. Will be here for a while. There’s time to make him world champion, there’s no need to rush it. This is just my opinion, but what I would do for this year All In would be a Will Ospreay vs Christian Cage and a World champion Swerve Strickland vs Darby Allyn. On one hand this would allow you to give Ospreay a championship win on his house, you would put a great match at Wembley on the record of the TNT championship, you get a good closure at the story of Christian Cage, with him putting over the new guy and you also have the chance to book stuff like Nick Wayne or Jay White vs Will Ospreay without needing to be in the main event. On the other hand, even if Darby doesn’t win (although I would like it to. I think if we have a Swerve world champion, Darby is the right guy to beat him) you still get a great main event with two home made guys at All in. That’s great propaganda in and on itself, and you would be telling both the fans and the wrestlers that patience and consistency is rewarded in AEW. Regarding Okada, I don’t really think he needs a title if you book him with another great wrestlers. Let him fight Moxley, White, Rush or Omega while the world title stage is stacked. Then, when we have a main event injury, there’s no need to worry. There’s the Rainmaker, ready to get into it. In summary, AEW has enough material to be great for at least 2 years, they just need to take it easy.

Here's an idea for the triple threat of Joe, Swerve and hangman. at the end of the match swerve is in a position where he is trapped and stuck for a moment (tree of woe etc.) hang man pleads with joe to wait and lies down for him asking to pin him while flipping off swerve as joe retains while swerve screams out in anguish as hangman makes good on his promise.

This is one of the things I have appreciated with Aew they know how to build and push multiple guys all at the same time, but where they struggle is they tend to avoid making these type of guys feud with each other in order to ‘protect’ them. It’s always one problem I have with some fans in the wrestling community just because a wrestler lose one match doesn’t mean they are buried. I don’t think Swerve may win it now but I believe he’ll eventually win it this year, always I don’t know where they heading with Warlow but if they actually want to get him to the world title picture he’s going to have to beat some of these guys and not just enhancement talent. I like the promo he gave kind of reminds of us who he was and need to back to.
