9:52 The Lions playoff win in 1991 was against the Dallas Cowboys, not the Green Bay Packers. Fans tend to remember details like that when it’s their team’s lone playoff win in over 60 years prior to 2023.

Packers fans are very particular about their past, given that is their go to whenever you criticize their precious cheeseheads.

The fact that none of the teams have relocated from one big city to another (Bears and Lions came from small towns under different names) and the anomaly known as the Green Bay Packers somehow made it work, not even relocating to Milwaukee full-time, has allowed fan loyalty the opportunity to grow and pass down to later generations. The Tampa Bay Bucs "interrupted" the black and blue in the then NFC Central before realignment restored the geographic and cultural roots for good.

I still have harsh feelings against Tampa Bay because they used to be part of the Black & Blue division from 1976-2001. And, errm, the Vikings didn't play the Lions on Thanksgiving in 1998. They played the Cowboys down in Texas and won 46-36.

In this division, be it central or north, the upstart Vikings (1961) has won the it most times, followed by Packers, Bears, and the Lions. The Lions currently have the hot hand, but the Black and Blue is hard to dominate by any one team.

The Vikings very 1st regular season game was vs the Bears. Fran Tarkenton came off the bench and beat the Bears in a huge upset by an expansion team over the storied Bears franchise.

The Packers and Bears are the longest rivalry, however due to a strike the streak of conduits seasons playing each other was broken. Next up.... the Packers and Lions who now are the longest continuous rivalry in NFL history. I think they've played each other every year since 1933 or 34

The Packers have the most rivalries overall. Feels like they've had huge, memorable moments against most of their NFC counterparts.
@MainerdLoyd3 күн бұрын
Very true as I pointed out in my post. It's all about the shared borders so you get bragging rights for the year if you sweep the other team or play spoiler on a playoff run. The Packers are the lynch pin since they share a border with the other three and the others don't have shared borders.

Twice a year, my family is at war with itself. My Mother is from Milwaukee and my Father is from Detroit. Not even Michigan-Wisconsin comes close.
@MainerdLoyd3 күн бұрын
Seems like a video where they just made up rivalries. The true rivalries are all against the Packers. Wisconsin shares borders with all three teams while the other teams don't share any borders. Yes we're division rivals but living on the shared borders you talk, work, play, date and even marry fans of the other team which increases the rivalry in each geographic location. The Bears and Lions have the longest rivalries with the Packers but for the Packer fans that live along the Minnesota border their most hated team is the Vikings. The Packers are the lynch pin of the division whether you hate them or love them. Even if your team is having a horrible year as long as you beat your border rival you can claim that season as a success.

It’s funny as a packer owner, you anyone in the NFC North their biggest rivalry is with, and they all say the Packers , the smallest market team they’re probably the only team in the NFL three teams that they’re the biggest rivals , to me it’s only the Bears and you lions in Viking fans can shove it , find a new rival cause the Packers rival was and is the Bears
@keenangant9825 күн бұрын
