Kevon Looney is one of my favorite Warriors players simply because he is willing to adapt to any situation he is placed in. His injury experience definitely shows that. He has always proven himself as being reliable for the team, and I honestly love it whenever he's on the floor.

Hip surgery on BOTH sides of his hips, post-surgery complications, AND nerve issues (neuropathy) where he experienced numbness in his hands, wrist, feet, and hamstring. He went from a 5-star unicorn prospect with a jumper to losing a ton of mobility. And he STILL is a very capable switching big on defense, bodying up against beasts like Embiid and holding-up (as much as a center can) against CP3 and Harden in their Rocket's era. This man is grit and determination. He took everything life threw at him on the chin and kept on grinding. There are so many centers in the league that are stronger, more mobile, more explosive and yet Looney still found his place. Proof that smart basketball is winning basketball. Looney is an important part of the Dubs success this year, even if most people don't recognize it. (Also 18 rebounds against the young, athletic, and LONG Cleveland Cavs!!!)

It's great to see Looney getting some attention here. He's an excellent player on a team-friendly contract, doing everything the Warriors need him to do and more. His consistently excellent plus-minus is not a fluke.

That's why I love this GSW team. They have the professionalism and ethics to bring out the best in people. Gary Payton Jr, Wiggins, Iguodala, Livingston, Otto Porter Jr....they all have journeyman stories, and playing their best game at GSW.

Looney has somehow mastered the art of screening for his team mates, specially for Steph. Oftentimes, it really looks brutal for the opposition while he seems to make it look like just another casual switch. Also, I now see where his explosiveness comes from since he does show it from time to time and if not for the injury you just showed, he would have been a lot better. Then again, if he'd been a lot better when he entered the draft, Looney would not have been with the Dubs.

Looney may not be a Embiid, Ayton or even Drummond, but Looney is a key staple for the warriors. He really represents what it's like to out in the work and make something out of his role. He may not playmake, rebound all that or even score that much but his way of playing is something that shows how the dubs develop. Looney is easily one of my favorite og warriors left. Hope he a dub for life.

Looks like some of the clips are actually Kevin, not Kevon like @2:35. At any rate Looney is one of the "quiet guys" on Warriors. Always in the scrum at the rim and very likely to come out with the ball, shot at the FT or jump. He's on my All Star list! Hope he stays healthy cuz we really need him!

Im here because when I saw a video of current warriors players first bucket, I was shocked that Kevon made that crossover and jumpshot and I said, "HE CAN DO THAT?" Because I see him as a blue collared banger inside the paint. But when I watched his highlights before, he really was a unicorn and I was thinking, why aren't the dubs utilizing this kind of player and why did they turn him into a Center. And when I found this video I realized, damn those injuries but Im glad that he is a warrior. Kudos to Kevon for adjusting his game. His injury was a blessing in disguise after all!

I would say that Looney is top 3 most important players for the Warriors. 1. Curry 2. Draymond 3. Looney Looney is responsible for what I would say 40-50% of Steph’s open looks. His screener IQ and even passing gets better each day and he’s also one of the best rebounders and defenders in the league. Coming from a Wizards fan.
