We need to have monthly reminders about this important topic, for the whole population...... Being a fan of Hyppönen and the Finnish cabal of IT-security experts, it saddens me that the finishing touch phrase "strength and guts to act" for these people is more like: ""strength and guts to act... except when dealing with Microsoft" .. Thumbs up!!!! We need more!!!!
@mckennacisler019 жыл бұрын
We need more people to not only acknowledge this, but truly act on it like Hypponen says. I really don't think it is up for dispute; we are living in an internet society which, in nearly every aspect, shows no morals of the democratic societies which we have worked so hard to create in the real world. I don't think anyone disputes that the American colonists were justified in revolting against the British, or that the French were justified in revolting against their monarchy. Something must be wrong here: we're under all the conditions for such revolutions, but we don't revolt. I fear that the reason may stem from unique dynamics of the internet: there is no incentive for its populace to change. In fact, with all the work done by the big corporations on the Internet to make it a happy, rewarding place if you accept it, there is actually an very powerful incentive to _follow_ the system. But I don't think any of this alters the need for change, it just means we have to work harder, break more barriers and change more minds to finally bring about the necessary change.

If it wasn't for CC, I wouldn't have known there was a Beverly Hills "anything" in Kentucky. Besides it was actually the BH "Supper" club, not the BH Country club, which is what threw me. That and having a little trouble filtering his German(?) accent. I work about 3 miles from the Beverly Hills hotel in L.A. CA. and just knew something didn't sound right about a devastating fire in 1977. Anyway a very sad story but that young guy was a hero.

You know. Every company wants you to open an account. I have 11 pages of account information. You're told to not use the same password for every thing, but look at the other side. An example I just faced. Wanted to ask an online technical question at a company, about one of their current products I had just purchased. They required my home address and phone before I could ask my question.

*Deeper Connect Mini* is an epoch making device as revolutionary as the iPhone. It is the world’s first Decentralized Private Network (DPN). Your Internet connection becomes untraceable, unstoppable, and without data leakages or the loss of Internet speed you usually experience on VPNs. It is also plug and play, since it does not require any configuration.

Well... I tend to look at the positive uses of technology. One recent evening I got off a bus well after dark and a woman was face down on the sidewalk unconscious. As I was speaking to the 911 operator the emergency services professionals arrived and revived the woman. It was a dark street with very little light and little traffic. Me a senior citizen without any idea what to do. We are not living in an aquarium, we are living in a sea of fear. I have used my smartphone during moments when I was being bullied by younger, much larger males. When I put my phone to my ear telling them I'm calling 911, I also let them know that they had just been video taped. They took off like bandits in the night and I remained safe. I still don't see why the government would be interested in me, a little old man who enjoys a cup of coffee and a hamburger every now and then.

Irdial Discs I'm struggling to understand what you're trying to say. the U.K should embrace it's European heritage as much as possible and stop pretending to be buddies with the U.S, America doesn't care about us- only for now, while we're useful. it makes me very sad to think that my country is orchestrating attacks against it's brothers, it makes me lose pride in myself and my heritage that we could be so cheap as to attack people who don't deserve it (IE; telco administrators for german ISPs) we have so many issues at home regarding immigration and budget deficit, and instead they're funnelling resources into turning us into the retarded kid in the playground who keeps kicking everyone and wondering why he's not liked.
@irdial10 жыл бұрын
w300x Who is "us"? If you do not make your own laws, then you have no country at all. Its not your country, never was and its even less so as a part of the EU, where foreigners make laws in bodies where you have no "say". There is no "we" that has many issues. If you feel pride in your heritage you should not be keen to give it away by the vote of a single generation that is binding on the unborn British. Sovereignty, if you believe in the State, is non negotiable. You cant have it both ways and you cant serve two masters.
@arxidakis10 жыл бұрын
What is delusional is thinking that the ramblings of a nationalistic minority somehow represent reality. EU exists, and consists by several fellow countries. Deal with it.
