Being smart is probably the worst thing for you if you want to launch an idea. Ideas are a dime a dozen, it's about the execution. Smart people overthink and complicate, it's the not so smart people that go for it and make it happen. Good luck.

Yup, you're right. Ideas are great, and surely there will be some innovative ones, but most things many people have already thought about. Lately, it seems like intelligence and "smarts" is the last thing you need to become successful.

The concept of "Imitate, Then Innovate" is such sound advice. Once you've imitated and learned the ropes, focus on a niche market where you can apply unique insights or technology to solve specific problems. This can significantly increase your value proposition and help you stand out in a crowded market. Remember, depth beats breadth when building expertise and a loyal customer base.

It's like when we were learning how to write and had to imitate the shapes of the letters. When you get good enough at it, you can innovate at ease. Or as Picasso put it. "You need to learn the rules like a Pro to break them like an Artist."
@Malaka1689
@Malaka1689 27 күн бұрын
Imitation is a limit and is honestly one of the biggest problems to succeeding. It's all about innovating. The mindset of the innovator knows no limits and how to get it done without the need to imitate. There's a reason why so many people are lost cause they have been imitating all their lives instead of becoming the innovator they always desired.

This is vital information and it absolutely cuts to the quick. I have spent a HUGE chunk of my life becoming a cog (doc) in an industry (medicine) that I no longer can honestly view in the same light and dramatically limits freedom for employees. Further, the "sunk costs" idea is very real in medicine. I frequently wonder whether the last year of specialization and board certification is going to even pay off in marketing, writing, etc. I remember reading somewhere that Koe said (paraphrased) "If your values and ethics do not align with your employer's, then every day you work for them is actually effort directly against your own values and ethics." Absolutely killed me. Whew. Thanks for the reality check, Dan!
@dremilofficial

I was in the same position (doc working in the system in the UK) - I left despite the sunk cost - going higher would not have changed anything for me apart from delaying my escape. I left full time training in 2015 and worked part time for a few years while finding my feet, doing my last ever medical shift in 2019.

Watch out bros, I’m boutta take over an industry that doesn’t even exist yet, and there’s nothing y’all can do to stop me! Hahahahahaha! Fr though, Dan, your channel is fire. You’ve given me WILD amounts of inspiration and REAL EDUCATION for how I can take these ideas I’ve been sitting on for years without sharing them.. very selfish of me. You’ve convinced me to change this though. I’ve started posting on Twitter, I’m setting up a KZbin channel to post my first vid next week, and I’m already creating my first product with a launch date of July 4. I’m genuinely confident that this project will be successful because I’m tapping into a huge niche that DOESN’T FRIGGIN EXIST! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making these videos and showing me clearly how I can actually do what I’ve always wanted, to serve humanity to my fullest potential and share the gifts of my mind that I’ve been blessed with in this life. The age of “quiet contemplation” is OVER, and I give much of the credit for this change to your videos. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Also, do y’all still have a discord community? Your current offerings on your website are actually not the most obvious about that, and I would love to pay you full price for whatever package literally just to join a discord where this is the common mindset. And again, thank you. ❤️

Thank you so much, Dan Koe, for the well of wisdom that is this video! You're content is a breath of fress air, and it is exactly what I needed in this season of my life. I want financial freedom and I believe that if it's possible for others, it's possible for me too! So I'm going to do what it takes to go after it. Four years ago, I hit rock bottom after my husband and I lost everything, and had to start from zero with 4 children! The events that followed were the catalyst that drove me to first of all, take ownership for the situation we were and secondly, to start the journey of improving myself and doing things differently so that I can see different results! I know I'm on the right track, and your content if helping me to refine my vision and go after the freedom yhat I so badly desire! Keep up the great work, Dan! 💪

So I'm 3 months in into having my own yoga studia and 2 weeks in having a you tube channel and I can tell one thing: getting people into your shop and eyes on your content will be the main issue. Not quality, not ideas, not content. You might be the smartest bloke in your country, and if you can't sell it, it means nothing - the market doesn't reward best-ness, but rather attention-catchers (who ofc often provide bestness as well). Practical application: roll out ASAP cause perfectionism only delays you, it's all about marketing anyway.

@@loricat5606 I think you are right, basically this channel is a funnel to get more exposure, the incentive is to stretch and water down the content and repeating yourself as much as possible, which is possible with the short attention span of the internet. basically anyone who's really watching all the videos either: 1. don't even observe that he is saying the same thing over and over again. 2. knows that he is repeating himself but they still consume it because it feels productive to them

There's a huge difference between being academic, and being smart. Academia, for the most part, is about memorization and compliance. There are very little open minded discussion or problem solving exercises. Some of the dumbest people I've met have been straight A students. Ironiacally, they THINK that they are so smart (because they did well in school) that they have no idea how dumb they are. The smartest (and most successful) people I have ever met did NOT do well in school. These people know that they don't know everything, and so are open minded and learn very easily.
