75% of the race, he was over double the time behind Max as Max was behind Lewis. That is literally how bad the performance gaps are right now; Red Bull err just Max is half as fast as Merc and then everyone else is >4x slower than Merc. Maybe F1 needs to do what World Challenge cars got back in the day, victory weight. Thats seriously the only way to make first obtainable because obiously even racing without tires is not enough of a handicap for anyone else ahem Max, to grab P1 this year.

I’ve heard that during races like these big tire companies look at the cons to improve tire technologies and yada yada yada which helps for when they develop a tire for street or regular track use. Then again it could’ve just been the track or temps. Hope they look into this...

I believe the problem with Tommy's idea is that Lewis would've been disqualified since he wouldn't have passed the control line on track to finish the race. Also people acting like it would've been a slam dunk win for Max if he didn't pit, I believe Christian said his tyres had 50 lacerations from debris so his tyre also blowing was very much a possibility.

Albon's defendable today. Yes he crashed in practice, but Max crashed on the formation lap in Hungary. That car may be 2nd fastest, but it isn't stable Yes he should have done better in quali, but it was a disrupted session and VERY CLOSE. He got p8 on a day where moves were hard and he got screwed by the safety cars, that recovery was impressive. Case and point - Vettel was in the same car that finished 4th but couldn't make any progress, and whilst he ain't doing great atm, Vettel is still better than RB Gasly

I'm glad he explained the part where Bottas' onboard showed the wrong driver name, because I remembered seeing that before Verstappen pitted and thought I was going crazy. This race was truly fitting for 2020, the year of the gaslight. The freaky thing was that I had flashbacks to the Ferrari punctures at Silverstone in 2017 immediately after Bottas' puncture, and I also remember thinking we were due for another massive first corner crash at Spa right before the start of the 2018 race.

1) Kvyat had a puncture, that's why he spun. It's not hard to lose the car when the right left (?) tire blows up in the middle of a high-speed corner. 2) I still don't understand how people still think it was Albon's fault. He was almost completely next to Kevin when he just turned into him. The Hungarian commentators didn't seem to understand either. As a great man once said, all the time you have to leave a space.

The problem in haases strategy was that DRS-Train... everyone had pretty much the same pace... normally those laps in P5-7 would have give him a big advantage and a gap to the slower cars and he wouldn’t be last... Good strategy but bad ending

maybe its just me but i found it refreshing to see a driver lose a bit of that corporate F1 cool and give the camera a little smack, man had just gone off to no fault of his own and had a pretty rough impact on the wall....keep being you, Kvyat!

I liked it when you used to talk about each drivers race for a few seconds after you read out the names in race rundown. But otherwise still as good as ever.
