I remember in the mid 2000s when tiger was struggling or when he hit a bad shot. They would always criticize his head movement. That’s why you can’t always listening to what they have to say. Most of them played in the 70s and 80s and the swing had changed so much. Time to get some fresh voices

From one of our students, Frost Johnson, ‘ Fantastic knowledge and insight Shawn. Nobody explains this game quite like you do. Many ways to strike a golf ball but I truly believe your teaching is the most energy efficient and offers the least chance for injury“. Thanks Frost! 👍😀👌

Ironically a video you had posted 15 years ago popped up on my youtube today. Protruding posterior in the downswing was your emphasis. Well dejuview probably the best advice ever in regards to the downswing. This is probably the most valuable advice on how the lower body should function in the downswing. This topic is expressed in many different ways by the best instructors on the planet. Downward facing pelvis in the downswing does so many great things and eliminates many flaws. Great topic Shawn. Can Tiger pull off another major at his age and misfortunes like Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan ? The game has changed and mother nature can be cruel. Sadely I would say no way.

I have to comment once more... I just saw video where Joaquin Nieman talks that he's swing is based on skipping rock on the water. He learned that when he was 6 years old. Very diffren't than short stop throw. So you can swing a golf club many ways or skip a rock many ways 😂 Both can be very effective 👍

HI SHAWN, I just found you a few days ago. I am 11 hcp and have yesterday changed my swingand grip for yours. My irons are going better than ever. I feel like I just started playing golf again and learnt it in a day. I have not yet transitioned my new crisp iron shots into my 3 wood or driver, I am still left and right at random with no idea of my planes yet...... Haha . If Tiger is back to his original swing, maybe worth a bet! Enjoy the show, I will be watching him from here in Switzerland. Cheers Shawn!

PS I am going to teach 2 mates, your "10.30 umbrella grip" as I will call it, and get them to use their natural strong grips naturally. Feel free to use the term :) Cheers!

BTW your "throw the club" move is the same as what Mike Dunaway called "holding the 7", but while Mike just talks about it, you actually show HOW to do it. Genius.

My big focus is to keep my head anchored front, back, left and right. As if there were a box around it and the only thing it can do is go down and back up to starting position through the release. If I keep that head anchored through the downswing and release in the same spot is was when I started the swing it is almost guaranteed to be a great shot. I know I’m doing it properly when I feel a nice stretch on my target side outside mid section bc it’s not ingrained in me yet and it’s still using new muscles in the core to maintain that positions. When it moves, towards the target even a little bit, the shot is going to be less than ideal. Even if I feel like I held it in position if the shot comes off poorly I start with that, I’m confident in my grip and posture, my footwork etc so starting with the head is best for me. I make sure I’m staying anchored. Your head can move forward with the same tilt and spine angle just fyi and you’ll swear you didn’t move towards or away from the target but take a video and draw a couple vertical lines and you’ll see how much you actually moved. And it doesn’t take much to screw with the shot. Watch any of Shawn’s stuff or even the pros. They are experts at keeping their heads anchored in one spot through release and only moving it in the follow through when their rear shoulder hits their chin. One big reason mine likes to move to target is due to over swinging and it throws off spine angle, tilt and balance as well as head position and usually ends up with a ball somewhere in the woods. Once the head goes the other 3 are most likely to follow.

Tiger woods is the best golfer of all time to me. No 1in the world could hit some of the shots he hit in he's prime. So unreal!

Reading a book on George Knudson and it’s talking a lot about it being a target game not hitting the ball. He practiced swinging with his eyes closed and just let the ball get in the way .

Here’s a question for you: because Canada is in the commonwealth, do you think I can have a word with the Queen to get you and the team in the New Years honours list - services to golf? All my best, all the way from the UK 🇬🇧

That is interesting that you often talk Joaquin Nieman to be great example. He has so much body side bending and rotation that it can bee dangerous even try that 🤔 I would say that 99% people on earth cant't do that. Though, he is amazing atheletic and player offcource. Anyway great to see Tiger back at Masters 👍 It's time to watch masters and do some football 🏈 practice at same time 🏌🙂

Shawn. I have been following you for a couple of months now with fantastic results adding 15-20 yards throughout my bag. I have been a single plane Moe Norman player for over 15 years but the transition has been pretty seamless. However I do have one big problem. I will be going along great at the range then out of nowhere start shanking it. I can’t seem to square the club all of a sudden and for the life of me don’t know why. Any thoughts?

Hey Ian! Simple: You start hitting AT THE BALL instead of releasing into the direction you want the ball to start on. There is a massive difference of space needed between you and the ball between the 2!! See “through the ball vs at the ball shawn clement” and see all my “shank shawn clement” videos as a good check list.

Hi Shawn, I really need your help! Im having problem getting my swingspeed up. I’m 190cm long guy and looked at almost all of your videos but when I’m hitting and trying to hit effortless my 5Iron goes as long as mine 7Iron at 150yards. I can’t understand how to get up the yards I should be at… cheers

Yes, I get that one! The Sam Snead Squat! Love it! The point I am making is that Tiger at 6 years of age (and many kids that age) had that gorgeous leg pumping movement and this was taught out of so many thousands of kids through the years; it is so important to bring this to light so that we don’t take hinder the development of our kids in this game!
