Use this unusual method to know what cards your spectator is holding in their hand. This secret is borrowed from a well-known principle but applied in a fresh way. trapdoormagic.com

The invisible stack is an amazing stack. Using that stack I created a memorization trick. I set up the stack exactly as you did, except I discarded the Kings. When the last cut is done, I pick up the cards and say I will memorize the deck, spread the deck F/U and look at them. Gather up the cards and put F/D on the table. Then bring out 3 dice and say you will use the dice to pick a random card and I will tell you what the next card is. Tell spec he can toss 1, 2, or 3 dice and then add the total of the dice. Then multiply that number by 2 (which will always create an even number). Then say to make it more random add or subtract 1 to/from that number (you now have an odd number). Have spec deal out that number of cards 1 at a time putting them F/U. You can now say what the next card is and have spec turn over next card. Put the cards back in order and you can do again.

I must confess I've found it a little confusing at first. Then I watched the video once more, paid close attention to the details, and tried it . It *DID* work and I got so happy for performing it. That's a great trick. Thank you so much for sharing. Greetings from Brazil.

This stack is excellent. It doesn't look like the order of the pairs is important so if they're deliberately randomised then other magicians watching a performance, who MAY be looking for the Stebbins stack somewhere, could be further fooled. 👍 Love this stack.

That is a great presentation and method. I love it! There are only two stacks I carry and use - Si Stebbins and Osterlind Breakthrough. I don't think the Si Stebbins will be appropriate for this routine but the Osterlind stack certain is. By using the Osterlind stack a) I don't have to remember and carry around a third stack, b} the cards look well mixed, c) as long as the first card is dealt to me, each of my cards proceed each of their cards. Now I simply know which card follows in the stack and can call out their cards, and d) I can fan and show my cards without any revelation of the method. Tell me, have you tried this presentation using any other stack? I would love to know. 😀

I haven't tried this exact routine with another stack, but I have certainly done similar stuff with Si Stebbins. I like Si Stebbins and I developed a web app that works with it in CHaSeD order - so I use that a lot. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I wonder if the trick could be enhance by using a long/short deck with a riffle shuffle, or an rough/smooth deck with an overhand shuffle? The pattern of long/short and rough/smooth wouldn't match that of an off-the-shelf trick deck, but if one could buy decks of slightly longer and shorter cards, or smooth-front and smooth-back cards and split/interleave them, one could use a reasonably genuine shuffle in front of the spectator and still have all of the pairs end up together. Since the spectator would either receive only long cards or only short cards, or only smooth-front or only smooth-back cards the cards, so the normal problems of letting a spectator handle a Svengali, Brainwave, Invisible, or other such deck might not apply.

Yes. This is EXCELLENT input. I love the long/short card idea. It is possible to buy short decks directly from Bicycle and you can make your own long/short deck. That would solve a problem I have with what I did in this video. The way I did it you can't let the spectator make the last cut. That's a bummer. But with long short cards, you could ....or as you say, do a Svengali riffle and let them stop you at the break. It's also possible to do a shuffle with a Svengali style deck without breaking the pairs, so that would really help the effect. Thanks for adding to this.
