The ion source is where the beam is born. There are many types of ion sources, however, we focus on just one, the internal PIG or Penning Ion Gauge source. We perform a complete teardown, rebuild, commissioning, and operational runs.

I do like the magnetic effect for the electron travel as an efficient means for Proton and electron emission. However, how would one go about electron capturing instead? Do you ignore the H2 gas? Or would one need to redirecting protons and neutrons out of the system? Do you reverse the polarity of the electrodes or magnets? I understand that x-rays would be involved and further shielding would add minor complexity. Thanks in advance.
