The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a big overheating problem. I've found that in my use through the last 7 days with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been suffering from overheating issues, and getting too hot to hold. The iPhone 15 Pro Max thermals are not good, and the 15 Pro Max has heat issues.

The problem with the new models overheating was not related to the titanium chassis design, Apple said. Instead, Apple points to bugs with specific apps and a bug in iOS that can be fixed with software updates. Apple said that a forthcoming iOS 17 update to address the issue won't reduce the performance of the devices.

Another reason why I don’t understand the argument of the chassis design is the titanium is also very minimum (if you see some of the breakdown videos). The titanium is mostly on the outside of the phone and NOT on the back panel where the A17 SoC is. I just order my 15ProMax, hopefully they fix the software bugs before I get it (November). Otherwise I will stick with my 12 Pro for another year!

Any lithium battery degrades quickly if kept at a high temperature. It will be the first component affected. It is clear that the phone has a serious cooling problem

15 pro 256gb no really heating issue except first day after set up. It gets warm is I charge with the 35W dual charger but not to a point to trigger a warning

Battery life will not be good long term. Heat is the worst thing for any phone battery. Especially with one that can't be easily replaced.

I have not this temperature problem. The only time it got warm was, when all the Apps were downloaded. However, the WLAN seems to be unstable. I do loose connection all the time.

This is just unacceptable! I received my 15 Pro Max on 9/26/23 and activated next day. Today, 9/30 I am at my grandson’s football and taking videos and this phone is very hot. Am I needing to return it? It’s a shame because it takes amazing pictures and videos.

I'm a tech-nerd, two phone guy... carrying the Fold and 15PM. I haven't had any heat issues on mine but I also quit social media a couple years ago and don't do long 4K video sessions so I'm very happy with it. But this issue is VERY real and, hopefully, Apple can fix with a software update.

Hello Baker, brother your comment got my attention; i was a heavy user of social media and 2 years ago i quit, i closed everything. I currently use an iPhone 14 pro max, i read that you use 2 devices, what do you do with 2 powerful devices while not having social media? Another issue (15 pro) I’m having is image capture is super unreliable! I had 129 video files to transfer varying from filmic pro with and without anamorphic squeeze plus native video/cinematic. So 70 files transferred but the rest just would not budge! Cable out, cable in, restart, and there was no rhyme nor reason to why files wouldn’t transfer. Anyway, fixed it by directly connecting the ssd to the phone. Files went over np however the files were smaller. Not sure why but at least the project isn’t bust!

My 15 Pro Max has ZERO issues with this. I have done everything from charging with a Samsung charger to playing full 3D games such as Max Payne and various 3D-heavy racing games. Also been using it to watch videos on full brightness. No issues at all.

I would give it a shot if you’re comfortable, there are a lot of people without this problem, and you may just be lucky. You always have 15 days to return if it’s through Apple, so no harm no foul.

I have been having overheating on my 15pm during charging and I will unplug it to let it rest during a charging cycle. Even with a low wattage charger it still seems to overheat. Long story short I bought this as an upgrade to my iPhone SE Second Gen because my SE had 2 hour battery life under load and 4 hours at idle. I don't use my phone for anything fancy, no games, nothing intensive. Just some youtube videos and music, camera (occasional video), editing spreadsheets, and discord. My iPhone SE was plenty good enough to do all of this (except editing spreadsheets) and even though it had a worse camera I cant really say I cared, the SE took fine photos for my use. But I upgraded for one reason alone to the Pro max that is battery life and battery longevity. If this turns out to not be the case I am very pissed at Apple and I think I have a right to be.

I don't know why Apple went with Titaninum over a tough Aluminium. It's like their trying to be different for the sake of it. In saying that I am pretty sure it's the new A17 Pro chip that is causing the overheating has all the hallmarks new 3nm process. I bet you Apple will release a update and downclock it and gimp it to 16 Bionic levels and than the upgraded performance will be pointless.

I just picked up the 15 Pro Max 512 gb , it came out of the box with iOS 17.0.2 and Battery date of August /23. Did not get hot at all during setup or downloading all apps and tons of photos/vids from iCloud. I keep originals on the device too. Barely warm at all to the touch during and when completed. Had it plugged in to Apple 12w brick with usb to usbc cable all night Never got warm and charged perfectly. I’ve also streamed Hulu and Netflix over 5g for a couple hours , played a few Apple Arcade games , took some pictures and videos and it stayed pretty cool. But….. the first 15 PM 256gb I got right after launch and returned got real warm during set up ,and would get real warm randomly, and charging, not real hot but real warm. So this new one is definitely acting differently for the better. I’m loving it.

i upgrade my phone from 13pm to 15pm. during this few weeks using i dont have any problem until today, my phone suddenly become too hot to touch and the battery drain significantly more than usual. after restart the phone the problem gone away. hopefully its a software issue not an hardware issue

The mid frame has a huge hole in it. This not only makes the phone less durable, but it cant absorb and distribute heat as efficiently. It doesn't have enough surface area. The regular 15 and plus use a solid mid frame. This can be seen using a thermal image camera. Unfortunately this is a hardware issue. Updates can only throttle down the CPU.

Alpharetta GA, 2 overheats in 5 days… initial setup recovering backup very hot (15 pro max natural color) and then outside on 80 degree day at pool for 10 minutes with device in sun, had an elaborate case so powered it down until back in doors. Most of 5 day usage fine alrhough have not tried some demanding tasks, games, facetime, or prolonged camera videos, etc. Cheers

The Yield of SoC’s that were Efficient in Terms of Power Consumption were Low. So that would bottleneck the Number of Pro Phones they could Manufacture. Plus they have to Bin the SoCs for the Efficient Ones. That would Add to the Cost. 😊

I really wanted to validate and say “yes I have this issue”, but I just don’t have this issue. My 15 Pro Max does not get warmer than 12 Pro Max. In fact the only reason I notice that it gets warm is because my case hasn’t arrived yet and decided to compare the phones. I just ran benchmarks 3 times back to back and I already use Instagram all day. I don’t have this issue. My phone does not have a physical SIM. When I am hearing that people are having issues even touching their phones, I want to say that they are exaggerating because it sounds so ridiculous to me. But I still keep in mind that my experience is different. They can be telling the truth for all I know. Maybe Apple can do some returns for people, but I don’t think enough are having the problem to cause a full recall. Reminds me when I had the Note 7 and had to return it. I’m not an Apple or Android fanboy either, in fact might go back to Android when it is time to get a new phone again, but haven’t decided.

I have my 13 Pro Max Pro (1tb) for 2 years now, ready for my usual every 2-year upgrade. I ordered a 15 Pro Max Pro 1tb with Fido, but haven't picked it up yet. The 15, and 15 plus are solid, and aren’t having this anomaly of an issue like the 15 Pro’s. Only reason the 15 overheated in the intro is due to how long I was recording. Just ironic, and included it because it was topical.

Saying the phone “overheated” is misleading in my opinion. If it gets hot or toasty. Which is common on a lot of new phones especially with new updates and OS pouring out. If the message saying “your phone is overheating” doesn’t pop up then your phone is fine. It has measure to protect itself if it gets to hot and will force itself to cool down. Just my opinion though.

Sounds like defected iPhone just exchange it. I have mines since launch no heating issues it got warm but it is expected because the new chip and specs. Apple addressed the issue that its apps are not optimized to the new update and made a statement that they are not gonna reduce the performance on the pro models. Overheating is when device gives a warning or phone exploded like note 7 years ago. So your phone is not overheating lol.

It could be a quality control issue where there are a bad batch of phones if it is a bad batch hope Apple doesn’t try to deny it so they don’t need to pay out

Great content. First, the titanium frame is only 10% titanium and 90% aluminum. It's the lack of a vapor cooling chamber. If you noticed in the apple iPhone presentation that they didn't mention the coolant chamber wonder why🤔, but as always, apple's slogan eternally is sell now fix latter. 😮. I'm not an Iphone hater, I just can't stand the way apple treats its customers. Let's sell the phones, but what about the over heating? When they complain enough then will fix it, what about the flaring in the cameras, don't worry there use to it. This is the way (Tim the Crook Cook thinks) its sad but true😢

I have a 14 Pro Max with no Sim and it gets warm if I’m on it for over four hours but then it cools down once I stop using it for a second and then pick it back up I mean I’m on my phone all the time

it sounds like the SIM version is more prone to the heating issue. my phone is usually warm/hot during charging .. but during the day with normal usage , it’s just slightly warm.

My battery has been pretty good, but the overheating can cause an issue with it overtime.

@@valismind after watching your video and some others I canceled my order for a 15pm. I’ll wait and see what happens. 1300 dollars (incl) tax is a lot of money no matter who you are and no matter what your trade in value.

*Every iPhone I've owned from the 8+ to my Wife's 13 Pro Thermals Out at least once or twice a week since it's release. Never had my Samsung S22 Ultra & Folds heat up at all. However, we know Netflix caused it. So we deleted that but, it's came back.. When the 13 Pro doesn't get hot? It's still a 2 day phone easily. She wouldn't trade it for anything.

I believe mostly SIM variants. My buddy has a non Max Pro, and his does heat up as well. We’re both in Canada.
