Yes, from the Japanese black and white movie and several remakes to this Bruce Willis version. I saw the original one in the late 1960s then again watched it in the 1970s along with the Clint Eastwood version. The Willis version is okay, but it's not memorable enough to stand up against either the Akira Kurosawa film or the Sergio Leone version.

They are both copies of Yojimbo. From what I’ve read over the years Sergio Leone had to get permission from the makers of Yojimbo to make a Fistful of Dollars. The 3 films in order make a great triple feature for a bad weather day!

Akira Kurosawa’s Yojimbo lends itself to good Gangster or Western-genre action flicks, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Sci-Fi Galactic, Super Hero or Multiverse-themed action flick based on Yojimbo, or a Chinese, Thai or Vietnamese action flick version of it done, possibly starring Donny Yen & Chow Yun Fat, Tony Jaa, or Johnny Nguyen & Veronica Ngo (with her enticing Vovinam ‘Scissor Thighs Around the Neck’ take-down move), respectively. Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai inspired The Magnificent Seven, with other classic films of his remade in the West.

While you make valid points, gotta remember that when the local sheriff is hands off in terms of handling both mobs, you know federal help ain't coming which means federal revenue agents or enforcement officers won't be either. That town is not a priority to federal agencies. Sometimes, they let one mob eliminate the other before stepping in. Otherwise, they risk creating a powerful enemy united to oppose federal agencies.
